Default Interesting scene

We have visited this location a couple of times. We think this is one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Can anyone identify it?

Looking down from Peterhof, St. Petersburg, Russia. Them there Czars knew how to live it up. But then I think there was a revolution or something.

Very well done Ray, your composition is superb.

If my memory is correct, the channel extends right down to the sea and this was how distinguished visitors would approach the palace. It must have been striking for them to see it from that perspective.

AR,

Depending on the statue, Dean would be anywhere from 60 to 30 years old. He "could" be a couple of hundred years old but the gilded statues were recreated after WWII as was most of Peterhof. It was almost leveled by the Nazis in WWII and has been gradually restored since then.

The statues on the side of this fountain were buried before the Russian retreat and then retrieved after the siege. You can see the discoloration if you look closely.

The gilded statues have been recreated.

Take care,
Mike
