WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CRUISE LINE

I just wanted to take a poll and see which cruise line is your favorite and why. I am planning to take a couple of cruises in the next year and have not decided on which ones I should try.

Thanks for your help,

Lynda

David and I prefer:

1. Holland America (Comfort & Relaxation)
2. Celebrity (Food)
3. Princess (Overall cruise experience, love the larger ships w/ Sabatini's)
4. Royal Caribbean (Activities)

We have sailed Norwegian three times and are not likely to sail with them again. Three strikes and you're out.

We have not sailed the higher end cruiselines but will some day give them a try.

Royal Caribbean for these reasons

Excellent service
Big Beautiful ships
Surfing, rock climbing, golf etc.
Promenade
ton of activities
Bolero's - Latin dancing

Of course what one person likes and looks for in a cruise might not be the liking of the next person.

Ask around, look into different lines and ships, decide which ports you would like to visit, and what is in the budget.

Enjoy your cruise!! :D :D :D

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORTE CRUISE LINE?

I HAVE ONLY BEEN ON THREE CRUISES. RCL, NORWEGIAN AND COSTA AND SO FAR OUR FAVORITE IS NOWEGIAN. THE CREW WAS FRIENDLY. THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND THE PORTS WERE FUN.

Thank you all so much for your input. I really do appreciate it. I'm thinking that the cruise I'm on at the minute would be my favorite, LOL. I was thinking about NCL but I am going to check out some of the others y'all have mentioned as well. I will be sure to let you know what I end up going with. Thanks again and keep the replys coming :D

Carnival, I have always had a great time with Carnival, good food and good service. I tried Celebrity. I loved Home Lines but they are no longer sailing.

CARNIVAL - Most Bang for the Buck. Celebrity - When I'm feeling like being pampered a little more, and don't mind spending the money. Princess - When I feel like sailing on a BIG ship but not fighting the crowds.

I'm right there with DTW, I love Royal Caribbean, just seems to be a good fit for me. I love the onboard activities and entertainment and their ports of call. They also have some very nice privite beach stops on some itinaries.

Holland (wonderful gorgeous ships that make you feel like you are actually at sea, not on some floating resort that escaped from land, unsurpassed crews, wonderful hospitality, great educational programs, the finest beds at sea, and great longer itineraries) and Princess beautiful ships, best martini bars afloat more vibrant crowd but no drunken low lifes.)

Actually Crystal is really, really great, but a tad out of reach price wise now. :)

NCL - Add $100 for the alternative restaurants
Azamara
******Edges out the others because of CC casual and Open Seating.
Celebrity
Carnival
Princess
Royal Caribbean
Holland America

None of the cruise lines are bad. I have never had a "bad" cruise.

Take care,
Mike

RCCL all the way baby!!

mehawk July 29th, 2008 10:05 PM

Carnival because of the most bang for the buck, and we have had no problems with them.

Regent Seven Seas - accomodations, service, food and all inclusive.

This is an ever-changing list, as we sail different lines, and as old friends seem to improve, or seem to deteriorate. . .Right now:

1. Oceania. We have evolved to a strong preference for smaller ships, with passengers who are generally well-traveled and bright, yet on a ship that is adult-casual, where most everybody knows what that means and don't obsess about it. We also tend to appreciate their itineraries, which are usually interesting and--partly because of the small ships--off the beaten path.

2. Celebrity. We started sailing on X in 2000 with the inaugural season of the Millennium, and like the line very much. However, we now strongly feel that M-class ships are about as large as we ever wish to sail, and actually prefer smaller ones. And although we have no objections to dressing up (I've owned a tux forever), it is becoming more and more of a hassle to carry lots of clothes around. Plus, we much prefer the various forms of "dine when, where and with whom you please" to the standard two-seating, fixed table approach. We look forward to trying Azmara at some point to see how Celebrity is doing with the same ships as Oceania.

3. Princess. A real love-hate relationship here. They're really a decent line, except for the couple really awful cruises we've had with them. They certainly do represent value, we believe, and we'd love to try one of their R-ships as well, just to try small-ship cruising on a mass market line.

We've also been on NCL, RCCL, Holland and Cunard, but not recently enough to count them in a current evaluation. In general, both NCL and RCCL were better than we thought they'd be back then, but we didn't expect much.

I would say that my favorite cruiseline is Celebrity because of their great food, the fact that they have a naturalist onboard that gives great lectures, their movie theaters, and their great customer service. I feel that with Celebrity you get top amenities without paying high cruise prices like on Silversea, Crystal, Regent, Oceanea, and Peter Dehlmann cruiselines.

Princess newer ships, RCL- Radiance class ships,, Celebrity- Millenium class ships.
