Here it is Wednesday already. Before you know it the weekend will be here and most of my fellow cruisemates will have to take a couple of days off. Bet you're really depressed at that possibility, huh?
But yessir it's Wednesday and it shaping up to be a glorious day regardless of the weather. If there's a litte rain, so what? Jump up otta' that bed, grab that mug of fresh ground roast and be glad you're alive!
Took Fran to her Oncologist yesterday for her monthly bloodwork. He's quite concerned that her platelets have been steadily dropping for the past three months and are now down to 88. But we're hoping they'll bounce back next month and she won't have to have another painful bone marrow biopsy or start chemo again. We were all planning and hoping to avoid that for at least five years and it's only been a year and a half. But we remain hopeful and have dropped everyhing in God's hands. If and when something truly traumatic occurs, we'll cross that bridge just as we've done all others. Other than that, the rest of her numbers were either unchanged or a little better and most importantly, she feels good. She was probably more depressed to discover she's never been as good as she always thought she was but as I told her, everything's relative. By the time she went to bed last night, she seemed to be her old self.
Blessings upon all of you to follow, especially on those requiring special attention.
Well I am up and some what moving. Trying to get my mind wrapped around another day in the salt mine. Boy do I need a vacation! Now. My wife is so looking forward to waking up having room service bring her a cup of coffee and setting on the balcony and relaxing.
From what I can see out side from the glow of my monitor, which is not much the rain has stopped. No rains means high humidity.
I would love a count down calendar right about now. In the military we had a countdown calendar when ever we got under a year, I thing that I will have to make one for myself.
Well you all have a great day and stay dry or cool depending on your location.
Good Morning All!!! My stepdaughter Lona, who is pregnant with triplets, is in the hospital due to severe morning sickness. She has lost 20 pounds and simply cannot keep anything down. She is in a hospital here in Philly and I was able to visit during lunch. I had a chill when I first went into her room. Seeing her lying there with the IV in her arm brought back unhappy memories of the time her little sister was undergoing chemo for lymphoma. Hopefully the morning sickness will be over in a week or two. The babies are fine and have strong hearbeats.
Everyone have a great day!!!!!

Good Morning, I thought it was Thursady????? Now I have to change my schedule today. Oh well, anothr senior moment!
Todd, prayers for Fran, I know all about thathe bone marrow test, DH had to have it done twice. He also has very low pblood platelets but in the 8 years he has had it, they can find nothing causing it. So if they ever drop to 30,000 he has to have his spleen removed.
Doug that picture looks so inviting. Can't wait till our countdown is there!! Sorry Irish don't mean to be mean by sayingwe have a countdown. But its been a long hot summer for us, since we were advised not to spend money by our financial advisor, so hoping next year brings better times and going back to cruising 4 times a year.
Wishing everyone a great day, whateveer day it is!!
Good morning all from a sunny Texas where it promises to be under 100 today.
I am still trying to wake up. I have to take Jim's truck in for service this morning. Mine was done yesterday. I have never driven this truck, so I think I will play with the back up camera.
Yesterday I saw a set of sheets I liked at the grocery store. There is a reason why you don't buy sheets in a food place. Sometime around 2 this morning they came undone, and wrapped around our feet.
Jim woke me up, saying some unmentionable things, and I couldn't help but laugh. Today I think I will see if the have food at Ace Hardware.
The roof guys said they would be back "first thing in the morning". Well they were here at 6:15 a.m.
They are banging and hammering away. It sounds like Armageddon up there.
I am also dealing with a cranky HVAC guy. Betty decided she wanted a new chimney since she was getting a new roof. The old chimney on the furnace was no longer shiny. The HVAC guy must not like attics and has displayed some attitude. My last response was just "Hey, your boss was out yesterday and checked things out, bit** at him. I don't want to hear it.".
Otherwise it's a good day.
I hope everyone has a great day and Todd I hope your wife's platelets come back up.
Take care,
Mike

I am at work, need to make a couple calls, then I must leave to do some errands.
Prayers for Fran and Lona!
Mike - good luck with the Chimney and roof
Fllady - hope you are back on the high seas again soon.
Irish - how I wish I had a count down clock too...for anything.
At looking over my dh oncall schedule for work, which recently changed a bit it seems he is on Call Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Week and Christmas week. Yikes! What a pain, but I shall try not to complain. That means he get three days extra off, but since it is almost September and he already has over a month of vacation days which he hasn't taken, the extra days don't seem like that big a deal!
Howdy from Houston not embarressed just dang HOT!!
Good morning all - another warm and humid morning...expecting thunderstoms this afternoon...just what we need a little more humidity. I will just stay in the A/C and try not to complain at least i have a/c so many don't. (or can't afford the power to run it)
Special prayers for Fran & Todd also for Lona and her babies...for Doug and the rest of her family too
May you all have a wonderful day and accomplish all you need to.
May God bless and keep you safe in His mighty hands today and always
Good morning from Southern California. The windows are open. Next thing I know, it will be fall and everybody will wonder if we'll have a good rainy season.
Good thoughts going out to Fran and Todd and Lona.
Mike, we can't even get a plumber to show up!
Well, Michael Phelps surely is a powerhouse. I felt so bad for the U.S. gymnastics team. They just couldn't overcome all the problems.
