My Pre Cruise Movie Ritual (thanks Cruise Queen)

Part of my pre cruise ritual is that the night before ,I rent a movie that either features the destination we are going to, or pop in my dvd a movie that makes me really laugh no matter how often I see it

for my upcoming river cruise to the South of France on Peter Deilmann (my very first river cruise by the way)...because my cruise companion has never been on a cruise before (this will actually be our first real date, which should be interesting)..I broke my ritual and actually purchase the dvd "Under The Tuscan Sun " with Diane Lane (one of my favorite movie stars) and purchased the movie poster as a gift to my cabin mate

I've also decided to show her 'Out To Sea' with Jack Lemon and Walter Matheau, because it always makes me laugh out loud and will introduce my cabin mate to the world of ocean cruising

thanks to my new good friend Cruise Queen, who has introduced me to the world of "youtube", I'll use my son's birthday gift to me ...an 8GB Sony MP3 player that shows video clips, to download all my favorite youtube performances of the smooth jazz artist that will be on my jazz cruise in Jan 09

my question to my fellow CM'ers..do you have a movie pre cruise ritual and if so, what movies do you like to watch just before leaving on your cruise

Mean Dean...funny you should mention the movie "Boat Trip"

back in the early 80's my then GF and I booked a last minute 5 day cruise on Carnival's Festivale...the first night when we were onboard, she brought to my attention the lack of couples onboard..it seemed that a large (over 800) group of men were onboard (this was before the travel industry really marketed towards alternative lifestyles)

it was one of the best cruises I have ever been on and really changed my perspective about how I viewed alternative life styles

fyi, the movie is not one of Cuba Gooding's better outings !!!
