Shopping on the Carnival Conquest?

Can anyone tell me how many shops or boutiques there are on the Carnival Conquest? Also, do they run specials on certain days or are there special items that sell out quickly? I know last year on a Disney cruise, there were apparently charms at one of the shops that sold out quickly the first day, but we knew nothing about that sort of thing as it was our first cruise. Just wondering if there is any special reason to head quickly to the shops once we leave port. I hate to miss a great deal! Thanks.

Hello Rod, and welcome to Cruisemates. There are several shops on the Conquest, from jewelry, to gifts, crystal.

Each shop runs specials through out the week, so it is best to read your daily Carnival paper, called the Caper.

If you see something that you really want, ask one of the clerks if this item might go on sale during the week. Most of the time, they don't mind telling you.

I have found that something I wanted, did indeed sale out, and I was left without the chance to purchase it myself.

On the last sea day, before the cruise end, they always put the tee shirts on sale, and those seem to be many, so not much chance of them running out.

I hope this info helps, and have a wonderful cruise.

I agree with Luanne. Ask a clerk if some things will go on sale later in the week. They usually will let you know if they will. The things that do go on sale later are logo items, t-shirts, some watches and I have seen some liquor specials.

The "best" deals I've found are when ships switch itineraries and they closeout their stock of logo clothing for a particular itinerary such as Alaska. I purchased a couple of NCL hooded sweatshirts for $10 each and my wife bought a decent coat for $30 on our last NCL Alaska cruise. It was the last cruise of the season.

Don't expect any of the high end merchandise to have "last day sales".

I've actually had sales people tell me that something will be going on sale when I've brought it to the register. That is always nice.

Take care,
Mike
