Yes it is Monday and the start of a new work week and another day closer to our cruise.
Nothing much here, the rain has stopped and it is predicted to be another hot one, oh how I miss the winter. Most of my friends think that I am weird because I miss cold weather. I was born and raised right outside of Chicago so I love the white stuff. Living here in lower Alabama we do not see any white stuff, but every once a a great while it will get cold.
Well you all have a great Alabama day.

A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.
Good Morning Irish! I thought maybe you weren't going to post so I did. At any rate, mine pretty much deals with a topic as well so I'll just leave it.
I have good friends, Irishy, who recently moved to Dothan to be near their son who works at a Nuke plant down there. I love the pace of life in South Alabama but I remember from my days in the sixties over at Eglin what could often be the oppressive humidity (we used to say we were not in Northwest Florida but Southeast Alabama (sorry Floridanamaw) .

That would be Farley, are they cruisers? I know what you mean about the humidity, even after almost 20 years I still have a hard time with it
Morning All, from Montreal, where we are receiving the remnants of Ike.
We had some very heavy rain and high winds overnight, and this morning is still dull with high winds. Not pleasant, but at least no flooding....
I went back to the doctor yesterday who confirmed I have a full blown case of Diverticulitis, and put me on 2 kinds of anti-biotics. I now have 3 more days off work, so I do not go back this Monday as planned.....
One of these days, I will be pain-free once again...I can't wait!
Good morning all from WI. It's cool here, and the rain seems to have moved out.
I'm waiting for a guy to come and replace and fix some windows for me. It seems the builder of the condo used defective windows that had a good name, but were seconds. I'm amazed at what builders are allowed to get away with. At least we'll get the winter winds to stop howling through the gaps now. :-)
I am amazed at all the damage from the storm. My heart goes out to all of you affected by it. My prayers are with you.
glad the rain is over and I don't mind the cool mornings - yesterday was down right brisk, the wind was from the NW at 20 mph - but at least it cleaned the air, and finally have clear skies and for the rest of the week the temps are to be in low -mid 70's with the evenings dipping down to the 40's and 50's.
Hopefully later today or tomorrow I'll have some good news to share -
so am trying to keep myself occupied until I hear -
Everyone have a a great day - prayers for those who need them
Good morning to all. Hope everyone in TX is doing well. We had heavy rain with flooding here from the after effects of ike. But everything has moved on. I just hope that the cleanup goes well for all of Texas. And I hope the hurricanes are over for the year!

Good morning from sunny Southern California. Things and people are buzzin'. I hear traffic, gardeners, construction workers down the street, birds, dogs, young kittens at play . . .
Gym day for Keith. I have a small pile of ironing to do.
Good morning from the sunshine state. I now know how to use "Skype" the internet phone and we no longer have a land line. Odd feeling but great saving money I took the time and called Kenya and Germany and connected very well.
Tonight prayer training and today I have to run errands. I saw some pictures of texas..looks like when we had Charley.
Good morning from the "humid" state of Florida. Yes we have horrible humidity around here. A few days ago the temp was 87, but the heat index was 103, that is high humidity......You just melt when you go outside.
We had a nice motorcycle ride yesterday, first time we have had it out in a while (it's darn hot in the summer) but it was a nice ride.
I'm at work with things to do so I better get going. The BOSS is in Alaska so we can play a little bit. Everyone have a great day.

I have great news!!!! As most of you know my dd is in the AF and has been in Iraq - She has arrived safely back in the States from Iraq!!!!! I'm thrilled, she called me from Baltimore - she'll leave there around 2 pm EST and will fly to Minneapolis and then on to Rapid City So Dakota to re-unite with her dh and son -
I'm very excited and wanted to share my good news with everyone!!!

have a good day mates!
You'll love Skype we made the switch 15 months ago and what a huge difference, in 2006 (Jan-Dec) we paid $1920 for our phone bills, in the last 12 months we paid $205 with Skype, we love it, especially the part where instead of paying the phone company I pay Carnival Cruise Lines, WOOOHOO! We travel with Skype on our laptop and it sure is awesome to make a call from a foreign land for a few pennies for many minutes.
I know how excited you must be, I had an ideal that you would be getting this fantastic news when you said that you should be getting good news today,
Please tell your DD that we all are excited and proud about her service and her return home. I know that my DW and I were so happy to have him home. We are dreading next spring as he will be returning back to Iraq and rumor has it that he will have a follow on assignment to the other theater. His G/F is in the same unit and will also be going. I am not sure if that is good or bad. I guess that is all part of being a parent.
It is almost 11:00 in the evening in Virginia Beach. This is supposed to be the last hot day for awhile. As for me I am looking forward to temperatures in the 70's. The older I get the more I am less able to adapt to the extremes in temperatures. Bahamamama, that was great news to hear about dd. When a loved one is in any war zone there is a lot of worry!
