I haven't flown in years but I wonder about something and that is, from where the "equipment" or aircraft is coming. Could it be that on that particular day, the aircraft assigned that route was held up by weather in another part of the country?
I'm certainly NOT taking Delta's part....only playing devil's advocate.
One must remember that corporations (including even insurance companies) will often pay such (to them) nickel and dime claims (yes, even when they're bogus) simply because going to court is so horrendously expensive and they're only looking at the bottom line. I have personally known of folks who rip off companies for that very reason.
I applaud this guy, apparently he had his wits about him to check the NWS and the availability to get another ticket. I don't blame him for filing a small claims against Delta. With the airlines wanting every nickel and dime we have, it's about time someone got some of it back - it's a win for him as well as us - as it should make the airlines aware that there could be others out there who will file small claims against them if need be.
