Say Cheese!
The next time you are watching tv, or thumbing through a magazine, you could see an image of you, or your family. Your photo's can be plucked from the internet, without your knowledge, and used in advertisements.....check this out....Who Knew???

OH,,,that explains why all my Tom Selleck look alike photos have been used in his movies and on T.V. LOL
Very interesting!

Interesting it would be strange to watch TV and suddenly a picture from your vacation comes on.

susierphillips October 10th, 2008 10:33 AM

Wow. Since the only show I ever watch is the Office, I doubt I'd ever see myself on tv. That would be pretty weird, though. I just came back from Cape Breton and the Customs guy told my husband that he thought he was bringing one of their gals to the USA. I guess I look like everyone else so I wouldn't even know it was me! Confused? So am I. LOL

No problem on this end, I'd burn out every TV and mess up every camera in range! ROFL

Quoted from the "gutter" here at CM:

"All message board content contained in CruiseMates is copyright© CruiseMates LLC unless otherwise noted."

I wonder if there's any actual recourse if they went pic hunting in the CM photo galleries...

edited to add: I wonder if CM might be tempted to sell your photo without YOUR permission, since they technically claim to own it.

Gutter - Definition: The inside margins or blank space between two facing pages is the gutter. The gutter space is that extra space allowance used to accommodate the binding in books and magazines. The amount of gutter needed varies depending on the binding method. Gutter is sometimes used to refer to the alley or space between columns of text in a page layout. In computer speak, the gutter is the blank area surrounding the content of a page.

You can be sure that CM, is not in the business of selling anyones photos, nor are the sites mentioned in the article. They are simply lifted, without thought of copyright, as the woman with the dog photo, found out as she had a copyright on her photo journal.

Your inference is insulting, as is your first comment.

I meant no such thing. And I proved it. Which someone decided to remove.

Wow, you can say that again, unbelieveable!
