Default Good time to book a cruise

The dollar is now at $1.34 vs the Euro. European cruises just got cheaper, so did the cost of building new ships. Oil went down to $77/barrel and Carnival took off some fuel supplements.

Its a good time to buy a cruise - I have seen some as cheap as $249/week!!!!

If the economy stays the way it is, soon it will be a good time to buy a cruise ship.

Its a good time if you are living in the United States. Not
if you are living in Canada, Canadian dollar is worth 84 cents US.
A little while ago it was value at $1.10. and its looks like it will
be dropping again!!

Running this web site I get letters from people all the time who think this is a cruise line. "I would like to work on your ship, can you tell me when you have an opening for a ______ [waiter, machinist, computer tech, massage therapist, juggler, plumber, chief purser, navigator]."

But yeah, it would be good to buy a ship. Other people do it. Look at Oceania, Seadream, American Safari, Orient lines. Those are all lines by people who just decided to buy a ship. Anyone want to go in with me?

I've put cruising on hold for a while. My neighbors are all dropping vacation plans as well. Oprah asks: "Is it a need or a want" and vacationing is a luxury I bet a LOT of folks aren't thinking about right now. If I'm going to spend the economy back to health, I don't think a cruise is the best option....

Care to speculate on which specific ship might avail itself for your purchase?

I also wonder where cruise fares are going to be this winter?

It is both embarrassing not to mention a condemnation of our society. that so much of our population has stopped thinking for themselves to the extent that we consider television celebrities, rock stars and the like as sages and dispensers of "world shaking" advice Used to be we learned such basics of everyday living from our parents and going to school.

What point has been reached? , Heartbreakingly, millions of American children have only one parent and often don't ever learn who their real father is; an unbelieveable number of college graduates have vocabularies indicative of an elementary school level and can't even begin to tell you everyday facts about the world in which they live; gutter language and pornography are being promoted as being "free speech" and becoming increasingly acceptable behavior; so many young adults that should be going into the work force literally cannot properly complete a basic employment application. And all we do is cast blame on some person or entity other than ourselves.

I am under no illusions this will change anytime soon and I do firmly believe that unless we delve beneath all of the accusations and other crap and recognize that "we the people" by our collective refusal to no longer accept personal responsibility for our own actions, behavior and support; then any form of vacation might not happen. I hope I am wrong.

That was well said Todd, and I couldn't agree more.

Paul, This past week was our final payments for our Christmas/New Years cruises.

I received a reduced rate of 77.00 on one, and a whopping 667.00 on the other. It is a great time for a cruise!!!

Default Good Time to Book a Cruise

It's only a good time to cruise, or anythng else for that matter, if you've got the money.

It is great to know that the dollar has gained in value. Rob and I are going on a transatlantic cruise to europe in April and like all cruisers, we love to shop where there is value for our dollar. I hope that the dollar continues to garner strength between now and April. We are not putting our cruise plans on hold; we live modestly and our big luxury includes cruising and using our three timeshare weeks. Every body in life deserves some pleasure!
