Default Who plans on shopping Black Friday?

Hi all,
It's November time to start thinking about your Black Friday shopping plan. Some people give up thanksgiving dinner to stand in lines overnight at stores like Best Buy. I do all my Christmas shopping on black friday. I find it fun chatting with people in lines and getting real good deals on stuff. Here is a site with the current sale ads for this day. Not to many ads right now, that will increase quickly. http://www.black-friday.net/

On line is the only way to go. If you enjoy shopping then go for it but I would never put myself through the pain to save a few dollars. Just my opinion. Mike

I went with the "Heck No" option. I've never gone out on Black Friday and I have no plans to do so this year. I'll wait a few days and see what deals are available.

Take care,
Mike

Our shopping is complete; in fact, Arlene wrapped all the packages yesterday. First set of gifts get dropped off in LA in two weeks.

Rob and I go only if there is a good buy to be had. I don't like the traffic, the lines in the stores, and the difficulty finding parking. I tend to shop, in the morning, in the middle of the week. Thanks to online shopping sites, I find myself taking more advantage of this type of shopping. This way, I can shop without being rushed and to really compare prices among the different sites on the web. Also, many sites ship free or give you a coupon that covers most of the price of shipping.

Heck no!

Why fight a sea of humanity? I stay home, relax, watch football, and enjoy a relaxing day off.

If it's raining out, I light a roaring fire in the fireplace, and enjoy a nice Scotch.

We don't have "Black Friday" here in Canada, in fact I'd never heard of it before seeing it on CruiseMates, but even if we did, there's no way I would be out there, no way!
I cannot stand the crowds, even an average Saturday afternoon at Wal Mart is enough to send me over the edge! I had to wander the store for an hour yesterday, waiting for 1-hour photos, and I thought I'd go nuts!

I wish I could just order something online or from a catalogue, and get all my shopping done that way!

No shopping for me. I'll be sipping wine in Napa.

I've only been out on Black Friday once and that was enough for me!
I figure if they can offer something really cheap on Black Friday, they can offer it other times as well.

This year I'll be in Branson, Mo. so maybe I'll pick up some things there but I'm not going to worry if I don't - I can do my shopping on line, or go during the week when everyone is working - I have to travel about 20-30 miles depending upon which area of KC I go to do decent shopping as my town has nothing other than K-mart and Wal-mart.

On "Black Friday" (28 November), I'll be playing bridge at the ACBL's fall national tournament, which is in Boston this year.

No I tend to get an over whelming urge to kill my fellow man after being rudely pushed aside to get to a $50 DVD player that just last week was $55 or ran over with shopping carts by people who are running to get to the Electronics department to get the PS3. I just as soon stay in bed and sleep and wait until the next day. I have done this a couple of times and found it more stressful than it was worth, but I admire people who can do it and have fun.

Katlady, yes indeed we do have Boxing Day, although in recent years, it has been more like Boxing WEEK sales!

Why it is so much fun!!! As long as you are obeying one of the virtues - Patience! It is also so much fun watching all the people. I get up on Thanksgiving early morning about 430-500 am to get all my cooking, baking, preparing done for a dinner that includes only five people. Way too much on the leftovers. Then end up going to bed very LATE to get up again around the same time to reward myself and SHOP SHOP SHOP!

My favorite holiday is Christmas but when Thanksgiving comes around and I do all that cooking and baking, something just happens and puts me in such a good mood.

I know part of it is the fact that I LOVE to cook and bake and would die for a chance to do that as my career but now it is for the love of database programming.

Finally another black friday shopper. I knew there had to be others.

Here is how I work the sales. It's important to have a black friday shopping plan. I hand my family the ads on thanksgiving, they circle what they like for Christmas. I make my plan depending on what is circled.

Last year Khols opened a 4AM; so I was near the front of the line at 2AM. I was at the next store in line at 4:30AM that store opened at 5AM. All my christmas shopping was done by 10AM.

The key is to know what you want before you go into the store and only buy those items. You want to move fast because some stores open at 4AM, some at 5AM, and others at 6AM this is great because you hit the early first and move on. I love to talk so I chit chat with people in lines and the time goes by quickly. This year my sister says she wants to come out with me. That will work great I can have her at the next store in line, while I'm at the first store.

HECK NO!

why PURPOSELY subject yourself to long lines, rude people and getting up if you don't have to go to work.

Mike said he would rather drink battery acid, I would rather pour battery acid into my eyeballs then go shopping on black friday
