Default I need ideas from creative minds

I am NOT the most creative person around so I need some ideas. I have a Christmas ornament exchange party in December I have to go to. It's like a cookie exchange, except with ornaments. I have to make 25!!! I need simple, but different ideas. I have started two differents ornaments and hate them both. Any ideas out there from all you creative people. Remember, I have to make 25, and it needs to be simple so I can do it. If you have pictures I would appreciate that also. Thanks.

I love tropical ornements. You could go to the craft sore, and get sand dollars or starfish, and bling them out...Get a pretty sheer ribbon, in gold, or silver, and make a loop, attatch with clear glue, wrap them in tropical color tissues and voila

Get a bunch of styrofoam balls, Ornament sized,,,and cut up several different pieces of material into 2 inch squares or smaller. What ever colors you decide on. Take one piece of cloth place it on the ball,,,and push it into the ball with the screwdrive around the edges of the cloth. Keep doing this with diff colors of material till the ball is completely covered. Pin a ribbon on it to hang it up and you have an onament.
Kinda looks like a patchwork quilt when done.
You can also put sequins on with straight pins if desired.

I found a website that will help you. They have project instructions. It's home and garden they have 31 different ornament to pick from. The slide show will take you through them. I like this one.

You have to make them? Yikes, thats tough. Can you buy something and add to it? Like a chrystal kind of thing and add a little greenry/holly and ribbon thing to it to hang it? Or make some kind of picture frame kinda hangy thingy?

Wait I changed my mind I like this one. Okay now I want to make some christmas ornaments I love the internet it's a great source of information.
Here are the instructions it looks pretty easy.
Materials and Tools
Corsage pins with pearl ends (available in fabric and craft stores)
Crystal-like beads in desired shapes and sizes (we used clear narrow tubes and round beads in several sizes)
Small cork
Iridescent white glitter paint pen (usually used for fabric, available in craft and discount stores)
Monofilament thread

Instructions
1. Place beads on one corsage pin in desired order, leaving the last 1/4 inch without beads. Make three more beaded pins using the same arrangement. Make another set of four beaded pins, using a different arrangement. Make an additional set of two beaded pins. (You should have a total of 10 beaded pins.)

2. Cut the cork, if necessary, so it is about 1/4 inch long. With the round side of the cork lying on the work surface, poke one beaded pin into the cork (close to the work surface) like a spoke of a wheel. Place a matching beaded pin opposite the first. Place the remaining two opposite each other, between the first set.

3. Using the remaining set of four, poke each into the cork, slightly closer to the top of the cork and alternating with the first set of four. Place the remaining two beaded pins into each round end of the cork.

4. Cover the cork using glitter paint pen. Allow to dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary, and let dry.

To hang, cut a desired length of monofilament thread and tie to one spoke of the snowflake. Or stand several of these sparkling snowflakes on your mantel or group them to create a wintertime centerpiece.

Best part about that ornament is drinking the wine to get the corks.

my boyfriends mother; who passed away 2 years ago, always made neat homemade ornaments; she would go to goodwill, junk stores, or just find unusual large jewlery and make the neatest ornaments from that; one year she used all my mismatched earrings and broken jewerly; you know the kind, you can't find the other earring but you hold on to it in hopes that you do, she took all those and made an ornament for our tree.

That makes the ornament more special. My father in law was an artist, he started to crave a walking stick, he died of Prostate Cancer before he could finish. I have the unfinished walking stick, it's one of my most prized possession.

Travelnut posted the exact idea I was going to suggest!
I have been making those "quilted balls" for many years, and my kids would give them to teachers etc.
The only thing I do different is to use a plastic knife to push the edges of fabric into the styrofoam ball.

The nicest one I ever made, I used scraps of fake white fur, with red and green velvet. I kept it of course, and it is one of my favourite Christmas ornaments.
You make an inexpensive one with scraps of red and green felt, or with scraps of Christmas printed fabric. I even made some with scraps of an old lined plastic Christmas tablecloth. The possibilities are endless!

I have ended up making the ribbon candy ornament. It is simple enough for me to do. Of course I couldn't find the little pearl beads so I had to use something else for those. I'm going to add a bow at the top after I get the ribbon to hang it with on and I may give it a light spray of glitter. I'll see how that looks on a few extra's that I will have. Thanks again for the suggestions.
