Default Yes Virginia, It really is Friday

Good Morning All and Happy Friday

Yes my friends it is Friday, TGIF and the end of a very long work week. I am so glad to see Friday finally arrive. Tomorrow I get to sleep in at least til 6:00 AM

My D/W and I are really looking forward to a much needed cruise, then again aren't they all much needed cruises?

Hoping that you all have a great day and enjoy your weekend.

Prayers to all that need them and rest to all.

May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks,
May your heart be as light as a song,
May each day bring you bright, happy hours,
That stay with you all the year long.

Oh Irish, thank goodness it is Friday. I am so tired this day, and I have alot of work to catch up on. I will be pounding away at the key board for sure today.

The last two days driving back and forth to Ottawa. Yesterdays driving was hard, pouring rain and heavey fog. A long five hours of driving.

This weekend, I have alot of paper work, but also Saturday we are going to the McGill store to get my son his McGill jacket. They have come in. We will also go out to dinner. Tonight Sam and I were supposed to go to dinner, but I am not sure we will make it as we are both so tired, we may just watch TV at home.

Have a great day every one.

Morning All, from Montreal, where it can only be a better weather day than yesterday! Yuck! we had heavy rain, freezing rain, fog, cold, darkness, it was just miserable.
But today it is much milder and the sun is shining, so that's an improvement!

I'm headed in to work early for another fieldtrip. At least this one is indoors and we won't be freezing our patooties off!

Just thought I'd let you know, my son seems fully recovered from his little adventure on Wed. night. At least he got to sleep all day yesterday.
I went to work with no sleep, had a late parent that kept me at the daycare till 7pm, then had to go babysit for a friend who was desperate at the last minute - what a long day!

I'm looking forward to the weekend!

Hello & good morning to everyone. What is everyone up to today? I had a much needed 5 days off from work but head back in tonight. Not too bad though cause I just work 3 days then off for two more!

Anyone cruising or planning any other vacations in the near future? Beenie, I think you are going next week if I remember right. You must be very excited. Hope you'll post review & pics when you return.

Hope everyone stays reasonably warm & dry today and has a great day.

Well it is indeed FRIDAY!!!! Less than a week now until we leave.

Yesterday the weather was not quite as nice as I was expecting. It was a bit cooler and overcast than what I wanted. But I did get the gutters cleaned out and raked the leaves away from the side of the house, in hope the wind would blow them elsewhere. That didn't happen

I also got one suitcase packed, basically d/h's stuff. they say women need a lot of stuff, but I am not so sure about that. Do you know how much ten pairs of Guy underwear and Tshirts weigh? alot! I have a 32 pound limit on each bag, and d/h's is at 29 right now, without shoes and his toiletry bag. I am trying to pack a little lighter, so we can put some of that stuff in my bag. Getting from London to Rome we are flying Ryanair, and so they are real sticklers to weight and baggage allowances, and I am not in the mood to get stuck with an obscene overweight charge, I can't recall but I thought it was something like 15 GBP for every kilo overwieght. That can turn into huge money, really fast.

So worst case scenario I can always purchase another bag allowance for 8 GBP to take with us I may end up doing that just for simplicity sake. but then again if I don't need to, that would be better.

Now for today, I think I will work on cleaning up the house a bit, I'll see if I can't get the kids to clean up a big giant mess they left for me in the living room or if I have to turn into "meanie mommie" and compel them to do it.

I still have lots of laundry to do and the ceramic tile could use a mopping and the carpet a vacuuming. I do have some help these days with laundry. My six year old is great, I just throw the clothes on my bed and she hangs it all up. She likes doing it, and I can use the help. It isn't always perfect, but she does her best and it's good enough for me.

Speaking of my six year old. She is a lovely sweet dreamy little girl who aspires to grow up, fall in love with Prince Charming, have lots of babies, and live happily ever after. Well she is now under the spell of her first crush and I swear it is going to be the death of me. I take the kids to the babysitter for 2 hours each day. That way I can get a little work done without interruption and they can socialize with the kids and sitter they have known all of their lives. Well about 6 months ago a set of twin boys started to come to the sitter. They were rough kids, who at the ripe age of 5 cussed like sailors and were meaner than rattlesnakes. Often punching and kicking the other kids, when they didn't get their way. Well my sitter is a pretty tough drill sergeant and I knew she would eventually whip the boys into shape or they would have to find another sitter. The evilest twin's name is Grant, the lesser of the two evils is Aiden. Well over the months there have been some improvements to the extent the kids would come home and tell me that Aiden was no longer evil, but Grant still was lol.

Imagine my shock and horror when my sweet little princess came home day before yesterday and announces that she and Grant are madly in love and that she kissed him on the check and he kissed her back

I tried to explain that that was not proper behavior at the babysitter's and asked why she is in love with Grant the evil twin? She could have at least decided on the "good twin". She explained to me that he is a changed man, that he he has changed his wicked ways and is now a good boy (OMG this sounds like me when I was a teenager )

Now keep in mind I don't take them to the sitter until 3 in the afternoon. Yesterday, d/d - a/k/a Sleeping Beauty was up early, dressed, had her shoes and coat on at 9:00 a.m. with her back pack on, full of pictures and notes with exclamations of love for her new beau. You should have seen her little smile melt away when I explained it would be 6 hours before she saw the love of her life.

Anywho when I took the kids to the sitter yesterday I had a discussion with the sitter about this budding romance and she said that she had been keeping a watchful eye out to prevent the "kissing" and that she thought too that Grant was changed by the power of love. Since he had been a model citizen and the once thought "good twin" Aiden was now behaving like "the bad twin" since he was now standing in the corner for assaulting another 6 year old while waiting in line to be picked up from school.

She said either he was a changed man due to the power of love, or it might just be the effect of the full moon. Time will tell

Last night when she got home all I heard about all evening was "Grant this, Grant that" and she was dancing and prancing all over the house singing how she loves Grant like Cinderella after the glass slipper was placed on her foot...

OMG calgon take me away! How I long for the days when she said "boys are stinky!"

Good Morning Mates,

Another dull, rainy day here. Yesterday I went to work - got most of my stuff done, then realized I had left one report at home - so I couldn't finish making my packets....so at some point I will have to run back up there today and finish - my o my.
Yesterday my niece and I took a short drive to the nearest shopping plaza (about a 50 min ride) and I was able to get most of the items for the Operation Shoeboxes I will be throwing together.
Also got a cute outfit for my dd for Christmas.
Rushed home, got my suit and towel and headed to the sports facility and the therapy pool.
Needless to say we had a quick supper of canned soup that I had on hand for "emergencies". Then I pretty much was brain dead the rest of the evening.

Today I have to do paperwork, get in my excercise. Run to Church and the dollar store - get those boxes done!!! Then meet my sibilings and their spouses, my mom and the one niece in town for dinner. After which dh and I will go to the Council Meeting. I hope I have nothing going on tomorrow.

RD - I hope you have a rest-filled weekend, you need it.
Beenie - packing is the worst, especially when the weight limits are so stiffling. 32 pounds really isn't very much!
Delft - your day is very busy - I hope you can rest a little this weekend too!

Wishing you all the best of days....
I'm still praying for lot's of you!

Good Morning and TGIF!! 2 more weeks and then DH and I leave on our cruise. Its been a long hot summer for us, and both need this really bad!!

Beenie, I loved how you told that about your DD and Grant. I had memories of myslef at that age doing the same thing for a wonderful "older guy" he was 8, named Joey. Thanks for the memories that I haven't thought about for years. Made me smile happy!!!

Wishing everyone a good day. We went out shopping yesterday and I got my DH a new 32" Samsung LCD HDTV for his early Christmas present. Now all I have to do is make out the cards and checks for the kids and grand kids, and I am done!

Good morning all. It has turned warm again here in the panhandle of
Florida. The weather is predicting cooler temps tonight. Of course they predicted rain for the last to days and we saw NONE.

Beenie, I had my first crush at 5 years old. His name was Roy and I met him in kindergarten. I think I kissed him first. My granddaughter found her first love at the age of 3 I think. Nick Nick was a cutie. He has moved away now. She will find many more loves I'm sure. You know, what boy could resist being screamed at like this.

Everyone have a great day. I have to go shopping for two b'day gifts today. Both kids have everything you could have.

I just remembered my first crush- his name was David, he lived down the street and we went to Kindergarten together, then I continued at public school and he went to the Catholic School - and I barely saw him...weird, since we literally lived on the same street - and back then we played outside and ran wild in the neighborhood. Then in 7th grade I went to Catholic school - and we became friends. In High School we tried to actually make out once, but it was so odd cuz we knew each other for so long that all we could do was laugh. We remain good friends today.

First boy I kissed was in First Grade - his name was Shawn - he was the only cool boy in first grade - he had long hair, sort of styled, wore a chocker and striped shirts, he looked like he could have been part of the Partridge Family (even tho' that show came out just a tad later I believe). I got in trouble by the teacher who made me sit in a big wooden chair in the front of the room while she lectured the class on proper decorum. It was tramatizing, but it cured me for many years, for sure.

You guys are making me feel so much better. I think I will print this thread out and put it in d/d's memory box. You guys all make me remember that this is sweet, innocent and innocuous... for now. But in a few more years, there is gonna be trouble, lol.

Happy Friday Sunset Mates,
I enjoyed reading of your daughter's romance Beenie. I remember having a crush on a cute little guy named Kent in kindergarten. Then he moved away. Your daughter will enjoy reliving those memories in a few years. Best of luck trying to pack. Those weight limits are strict. I thought it was a challenge to keep bags under 50 pounds.
Jennie, Congratuations on being so organized for Christmas. Enjoy your cruise. I wish I could go with you >
RD I am so glad to hear that your son is alright. Those are the times that help us to earn a few gray hairs. I know what you mean about needing the weekend to rest up. Our kids seemed so active this week. My friend thinks it is on account of the full moon. Any thoughts.
Have a nice Friday evening.

Good evening from stilly rainy, Virginia Beach. What awful weather we have had all week! The good thing is that there have been more hours of work; just in time to have money for the holidays. Just think, thanksgiving is less than two weeks away and we are Maryland bound. Can't wait to see the kids and the grandkids. Hope all of my fellow cruisemates have a wonderful weekend.
