Shoot, I say just book a nice cruise from your hubby as a early Valentine's day present. Tell him how romantic a gift it was and that the toliet seat needs to be installed and it's in the driver's seat for his car.

Sweetly point out to Mr Left Brain (obviously) that not only did his gift hurt you, but hurts all of us males who do the right thing for their DWs and GFs on the holidays............then smash it over his head, preferably on the left side. Maybe that will awake the obviously dormant right brain.
Considering my negative reaction to Beenie's gift video I want to make it clear that I am not advocating violence here. I would consider my suggestion medically necessary corrective therapy.

I had a wonderful Christmas with my dd and her family in So Dakota - and since she didn't mail my b-day presents (Nov) I had several packages to open!! She spoils me as she knows Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

Now for the recipient of the toilet seat - be thankful he gave you something!! - I've not received a gift from my dh for the past 15 years!!
he thinks Christmas is too commercialized, it's only for kids and besides he says - " I put a roof over your head and keep the corn in the corn stove to keep you warm" - you don't need anything else!! - Sorry, I had to vent!

We have a new addition to the family. Wonka is a hairless cat. He was a rescue so my daughter figured that a bald cat would be perfect for a bald guy.

I'm surprised at how "loving" he is. He loves to snuggle. It is probably because he's cold.

So far, Wonka and Kramer are doing well together.

Take care,
Mike

Wow, what a great cat!! Thank you. For a minute, I thought this discussion was going right down the toilet!

As for me, no cruises in sight. Going to Puerto Rico in May for my son's wedding. That is so great! We'll stay for about 5 or 6 days.

Had everyone for dinner at our house for Christmas. That's the greatest gift of all.

A little David Yurman helped.

No cruise, but we did give each other a trip to Europe to visit my Dad in May. Tommy has a "bucket" list....things to do before you kick the bucket. So I gave him a gift certificate to go skydiving.....YEP, and he gets the DVD and pictures too (someone has to jump out of the plane to take the video and pics so they price it accordingly). I will be on the ground.

Tommy gave me pearl earrings and a necklace along with a digital frame. I received 3 digital frames. I'm returning nothing!

However, my favorite gift came from my nephew/son. Everyone remembers I adopted him at 16 when his Mom didn't want him because he didn't get along with her boyfriend....oh and his Dad (my brother) died the day after he was born...Right? Well, he gave me one of the digital frames, but the BEST thing was on the card. It said

Aunt Melody,

I want to thank you for everything you have done for me. You are the mother I always should have had. You are the rock in my life and I love you. I am so glad to see you so happy. I hope you get everything you desire, because you deserve it.

Love,
Scott

then he wrote to Tommy

Tommy,

It's so nice to see my Aunt Melody so happy. She laughs and smiles all the time. I attribute this to you and I thank you for loving her as much as I do.

Love,
Scott

I cried like a baby.......and I don't usually cry!

Melody

Sky, I am working on Carole to let me buy a larger TV. I am looking at a 52 inch Sony. I have a 40 inch now. She seems to be softening up a little. The flat screens don't seem to bother her like the tube jobs. My Christmas surprise was a top coat. I think she likes the way they look. A top coat in Northern California is like an ice box in Alaska, seldom used. Take care, Mike

I got one afterall. I received in the mail, a trip for a 4 days on any Carnival ship!

That will make 9 trips on them for me and then I will be a VIP!

Default Television Question for Sky

Sky, I am thinking about buying a new TV. I looked at Consumers Reports and they like the Sansung 52A650 the best, even a little better than Sony. What is your experience so far? Is there anything I should know before I buy? Thanks, Mike

I am new to this site and I hope you don't mind me jumping in on this post.
I gave my wife a 7 day western Caribbean cruise for a honeymoon we never had or could afford 35 years ago.
She loved it.
