Well it is the final countdown to the end of the year. As far as years go, I'd have to give this one a 9 out of 10 stars. No major catastrophes, lots to be thankful for. Got to see and do lots of things. The fam is healthy and happy. We have food in the cupboards and feel pretty fortunate to be surrounded by those I love.
Today we will likely get back to eating normally, clean up all of the messes we made yesterday. I need to get into the kid's rooms and help them organize to find places for all their new stuff they acquired yesterday.
The cat had a great time opening her stocking but I think she is suffering from a catnip hangover today, because she seems kind of tired and cranky lol.
D/H and the kids are still asleep. It's just me and the beast with an attitude. D/S said today he wants to have a family breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gee I hope it's safe to put away the good china... I think what he means is he wants to sit down in the actual dining room on the big table with all of us together, rather than sitting at the island counter in the kitchen. I suppose I can indulge him in the name of family unity.
It's still dark here, so I think I will turn on the news, grab my fussy cat and sit down with her and see whats bothering her and drink my coffee.
Good morning all on Boxing Day! I am off from work today thanks to the President giving all of us Federal workers today off . Marj has to work though . One of the gifts we got is tickets for Cirque Dreams Holidaze at one of the AC Casinos for Sunday night and Marj wants to go see Marley and Me.
Saw Lona yesterday and her quote is "Only three more weeks!" She is 30 weeks along and the triplets are 3 pounds plus.
The live feed from a local mall showed virtually no shoppers despite early morning sales.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Cold and Clear this morning - 11 degrees.
Christmas Eve day we had lots of rain - then the high winds came. Poor dh is on call...Wed he had a scheduled job he had to get up fo rat 2 am. He worked straight thru until sometime after 9 p.m. when he joined the rest of us at his parents house - because of his delay we got home later than usual, like 1 am - he went right to bed. But then after less than an hour of sleep he got called back out - the high winds were doing lots of damage. He worked until about 7 pm. He never got to my sisters home at all. So we still have stockings to open and all the gifts we have for our kids, them for us and for each other...so Christmas is still awaiting. Of course he is at work right now...and who knows when he will actually make it back home. Oh well.
It is been a busy two days, and plenty of family is still in town, so the next three days anyway are pretty much booked up.
Good morning all. I'm hoping for a quiet day today. I'll have two of the grandkids but my granddaughter is going to visit somebody for a while and my grandson is going with my BF and help him with work. If that all works out I will have the house to myself and clean it up some.
Everyone have a great day.

Morning All, from Montreal, where the city is gearing up for the biggest shopping day of the year! Not me though, I am not venturing out into the frozen tundra - it is like Ice City out there, and very dangerous whether walking or driving!
Presently the temperature is -14 with windchill of -21C which amounts to -5F.
Good day for staying indoors and cleaning up after yesterday!
I am proud to say that my 1st ever turkey dinner was a big success!
I was worried about it being a disaster, but by all accounts, it turned out excellent, so I am pleased. Maybe I'll do it again next year!
Good Morning cruisemates! Temps in the high 20s F, but warming to above freeing in Calgary by tomorrow.
It's Boxing Day in Canada - which is our version of "Black Friday". Everything the retailers didn't see befor Christmas will be dumped into discount racks, and people will act like they are selling licenses to live to 500.
Last night we went to a friend's annual regifting party. Everyone wraps and brings the most hideous gifts they ever got that for some reason are still in their homes, and each guests chooses a surprise package.
I'm proud to say a huge ugly beer stein we "gave" about 5 years ago, made it's 6h annual return to the gift stack. One has to take pride in the fact that one was once gift a gift that ugly, that year after year no one wants to keep it.
Good afternoon from sunny Florida. A nice breeze and mild temps.
We had a very nice Christmas Day with my brother and his family yesterday. We started the day with a nice breakfast spread, and ended it with lots of stone crabs and a big beef tenderloin roast. YUMMY!!!!!
Only thing missing was our kids, but maybe next year we'll be able to get them to come down here.
Good Morning Mates,
Our Christmas blizzard never made it here. I slept in today. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Ed's daughter's house last night. Her little Grace was cute. We gave her a baby stroller and she tried to sit in it.
The after Christmas sales are on today. I don't know if we will venture out.
Good morning all, for my American mates, especially those who love to shop a very happy "Black Friday" and to my Canadian friends a happy Boxing Day! I like a lot of others am off from work today thanks to the President giving all of us Federal workers today off. Unfourtunly Nancy has to work.
Received news that Joe "The Cruising Bear" has left the "Windy City" of Chicago and now on his way to Idaho where he will join dadrat on the Valor for a week.
Hope all is well
Have a Great Alabama Day.
May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
