Yes it is Wednesday, Hump Day. Here we are half way thru another week. It is cold outside as the temperature has finally dropped below the 30 degree mark, but it is suppose to climb back to the 60's today. Of course I will not hold my breath about that one.
Well you all have a great Alabama Day.

And give thee peace.
Amen.
A very cold day over here, on my way to Ottawa to take my mother for her palliative care appointment today. The next three days are supposed to be awfully cold. Have a great day every one.

Good morning Irish and Delft and all the others to follow.
It's cool here this morning at 58, but that is like a summer breeze compared to so much of the country.
I'm going to play cards with the ladies that my brother used to come up to Jupiter to see this morning. Our little group is down to 3 now and it will be hard to not have Bob along too. One of the ladies is 93 and cute as a bug in a rug! I'll take them out for a nice lunch afterwards.
My heart and prayers go out to Luanne and her family as they have the funeral service today.
Good Morning Irish, Delft and Phyll and all who follow. It's an awfully cool 22 degrees F here in Northeast Tennessee this morning but it's shaping up to be a sunny day.
We returned yesterday afternoon from our overnight stay in the Sevierville-Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg area.
This is the cheapest time of the year as much is closed but all we're really interested in is the ambience, the little shops (many of which remain open) and of course any deals at the large malls and outlet centers. Don't be fooled, however, "Outlet Center" does not necessarily translate into savings. In this economy, however, there are bargains even there.
Fran is also kinda' happy she doesn't have to cook.
We booked a very nice motel room (that during the season goes for close to $200 a night) for 39 bucks tax included. We had a gift card for Red Lobster so ate supper there Monday night for the eight buck tip. The hotel had a really terrific HOT breakfast included in the stay.
What I'm getting at sportsfans is the whole trip, including the gasoline, cost us maybe fifty bucks.
Welllll............not entirely. But I don't ("conveniently" as some cynic might say) consider what follows as part of the trip.
Amongst all of the stores, restaurants, attractions, theaters, etc., is a sprinkling of book stores. Fran normally goes through the roof when I mention even stopping at one (probably because she knows it's going to mean some "really terrific deals" as I describe my purchases). I therefore cut her off in advance by asking, "Oh by the way, hon.....I was just thinking. How much do you spend each month at the beauty parlor?" Of course I said this just as I was turning into the parking lot for Books-A-Million. She just gave me a withering look and said very softly, "Ohhhhhh...... NOWI understand." As I was driving, I was unable to place both my index fingers in the form of a cross in front of her face and yell, "Back! Get Back!"
I figured I'd get the expensive store out of the way so that the Book Warehouse later in the evening would look like a real steal! My plan subsequently didn't work out exactly as I had intended but at least I came away with minimal scarring.
In any event, I have some more things to read this week (heh-heh-heh).
Blessings upon everyone, prayers for all those suffering any travail and finally and most sadly, special prayers this day to Luanne, Jim and their family.
Morning All, from a sub-zero Montreal. Weather report this morning says frigid cold warning, with temps at -23 and windchill at -36!! That is Celcius, but I think it becomes the same as Farenheit somewhere around -35.....
It will certainly be bundle-up weather for any amount of walking out there today!
My thoughts and prayers today are also with Luanne and her family.
Luanne, I wish you strength to get through this day, and peace afterward....
Hi Kids,
It's the kind of day outside, where, you have to decide if your list of errands is really more important than staying inside.......problem is, today will be the best, in many days to come, at least the sun is out.
I know everyones mind is on Luanne's, family today, and, I hope our collective love and support will give them all, some measure of strength today.
Make it a good one.

Hello every CM members,
When the cold reach -40F it is -40C.this is so easy with the metric system.
In 1975 the US vote to adopt the metric system but it is still the same old
english method.
Have a nice day
MTL
There is cold, bloody cold and then there is miserably blood cold - with the windchill this morning it is -25 since I have felt worse, I will catorgorize today as hovering just below bloody cold - as I know what 40 below feels like, before windchills - that is when you go out side and your nostrils immediately suck in and freeze, you can't breath unless you have a scarf over mouth and nose and you have to keep your eyes squinty shut or the tears run down your cheek, and of course freeze.
Off to work, then lunch with a friend who has sort of been estranged over the last few months, then home, then back out for Bible Study.
Praying for Luanne and her family today - it is beyond my imagination what they are feeling.
Delft - safe travels today
Todd - glad you had a nice time while away
Phyll - how nice you will still be part of the card party - I am sure it is a highlight for them (and you)
Morning from the Pacific Northwest............still warming here.....sorry for y'all that have the cold........in the low 40's right now........low 50's for the highs.............
No rain in sight......a good thing.....we are drying out.......
Phyll.........glad you're still having fun playing cards.......
Luanne & family you are in our thoughts today.........
Good Morning CruiseMates. It is a winter wonderland here its about 10 degrees and snowy. The kids are still fighting their colds, so they won't be playing outside today. but they really want to get into the snow.
I have not been able to sleep through the night lately, waking up between 3 or 4 a.m. D/s woke up too last night, so he and I, oh and Sami the cat went out and snuggled up on the day bed and fell back to sleep together. we woke about 9. d/d woke up soon after. Then of course they all went and woke d/h up.
In a bit I'll cook up some sausages and eggs and get some more laundry going. Then get the kids cracking the books.
Like all of you, my mind and heart is stuck on Luanne and her family. She sounds like she is really hanging tough and I admire and respect her strength.
Good morning all. I woke up to a chilly 29 degrees here. I know, I know, for those of you up north, that's a warm spell, but for us in the south, that down right cold. It should warm up to the 50's today. I love that.
I've been busy at work, thank goodness. It's about time to start getting our W-2's out and I have about 225 1099's to get ready to go out. That should keep me busy for a while.
Everyone have a great day.
Also thinking of Luanne and her family today.

It is a beautiful, clear and crisp day here in the Land of 10,000 frozen lakes.
It's only -18F and the windchill is somewhere around -40F. SOP for January in Minnesota. I had to blow out a couple of drifts that formed overnight on the driveway. The wind is expected to pick up today so I'll probably be required to blow the driveway once or twice more.
I hope everyone has a great day.
I'm wishing Luanne her family strength on this very hard day.
Take care,
Mike

Good Morning cruisemates! Staying above freezing in Calgary, with temps in the low 30s F, and maybe a few flurries. Not terrible for Jan. weather.
Have all kinds of accounting work to put together today. Have to get all the records for the home care we've for my parents this past year in order before we leave for cruise next month.
The records are in a bit of a mess, so it's going to take most of the day.
Good morning from Southern California. The 80-degrees-plus temperatures are supposed to visit us all week, and so are the fire alerts.
I have to see the diabetes nurse today. As you may have surmised, this disease is progressing; hence all the visits to the clinic. One of the chemo medications will make my blood sugar spike, so I must start insulin. Also must bite the bullet and start eating better.
I, too, will be thinking of Luanne and her family on this sad day.
Judy hang in there. Let us know how you are getting along and how your appointment goes. Those insulin injections are not fun but hopefully it will work to keep you sugars in check. Hopefully once chemo is completed your sugar will return to normal?
You have really had rough way to go. Hang in there.
Good afternoon from, in the low 30's, Virginia Beach. I guess most of the nation caught the cold air from Canada. Oh well, I am sure glad I am living in Virginia where the temperatures are more mild than where I grew up, in New Jersey. Since I have been back from Bethany Beach, I have been busy scheduling doctor's appointsments, catching up on the laundry and of course, shopping for food. Let's hope that 2009 brings the world relief from all the financial hardship it is going through! May all my fellow cruisemates enjoy a wonderful day!
Good Afternoon Cruisemates,
We had a beautiful sunny day at 54 F. This is the nicest day we've had since before Christmas. I still think of my home state of Minnesota where they were showing the extreme cold weather in Duluth and surrounding areas. The man interviewed on the morning news said that it was a beautiful Minnesota winter day with clear blue skies.
Luanne and family, you are in my thoughts today. I read your son's memorial site last night. What a handsome young man he was, and it sounds like he had great talent and a wonderful personality. Hold onto that as you remember him. May your family be blessed with good memories.
Judy, best of luck with the insulin and chemo. Hopefully you will come through both healthy and strong at the end.
Todd, I am glad you and Fran had a nice getaway. You must understand that her beauty parlor appointments are similar to car maintenance. Not a luxury, but something your DW needs!
Beenie, that was interesting to hear that you couldn't sleep last night.
I was awake almost all night on Sunday. I slept fine on Monday, and was awake again for several hours during the night last night. Hopefully it will soon pass.
Have a great evening and stay warm.
