I just want to report that Trevor's staples were removed from his head yesterday and the Surgeon discharged him from his services. And, Trevor is allowed to drive!!! Yes!! He drove home from the app't-which was in the Heart of Florida Hospital near I-4, so it was a fairly long trip to our house--an hour or more. But he made it. He goes to the primary doctor on Monday for that check-up.
All through this recuperation he's been having "interesting" dreams, several of which have been about cruises and cruise ships. (Good!). With the prices coming down, he's beginning to think about our next one! (Good!)
Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers. We still need to hit 100% recovery-with some minor physical therapy and taking it easy-but you all helped pull us through this. And, he's had a new regard for "angels". You are among them!!
Wonderful news, Lynne! I remember when Keith's staples were removed. He was still in the ICU. Keith didn't get his drivers licence for quite a while. He, too, went through a lot of rehab. But when he did get his license back, he thought it was the best Christmas gift he had ever gotten, even if it did come from the DMV! It arrived on Dec. 24.
Great News!! He will be better before you know it. Thanks for letting us know.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Trevor navigated the Walmart parking lot and grocery shopping alone today so I guess that has some weight!
The Dr. wants to see him in a month and no need for a cardiologist app't for now.
Although he's gotten stronger, his legs still get wobbly after awhile-thus the therapy for that, and to strengthen them and the affected left hand and fingers. But, to clarify, they are fully functional. He even got back into his habit of doing a full load of dishes the other day-by hand!!
We will be researching cruises down the line after we get these initial app'ts out of the way. And, I have to catch up with a few of mine that have been put off for awhile.
Thanks a lot for caring. You are the greatest!!
