It is Saturday!
It is finally the end of the week. I am glad. I am so tire!
I have made more phone calls, and did more running around, I dont think I have ever been on hold so long. Try getting things for my sister, guess what...she has NO photo ID, guess what? Every one wants photo ID. She has a medicare card, but in Ontario, you are not obliged to get one with a photo if you had one without......so guess what? They never got one..........and she has no other ID! A birth certificate that is to old to use, could not even get her one without yes......photo ID, and proof of residence.......guess what.........she has none....she gets no bills in her name! My mother realizes now she should have done that differantly, but you just don't think of it! Finally got the ability to apply for one, not for my sister, but my mother is named in the "act of birth", therefore, regadless of the age of the child, she can legally ask for a birth certificate using her ID! What an endless paper work nightmare!
How ever, I do have an oncology appointment here next month, and this means my mother should be good to go for chemo here in April when she is moved here!
In the middle of all the calls and appointments I was taken out several time for my birthday, but some how I really was not into celibrating this year, because I always sat down with in the back of my head what I need to get home to so I can get some more stuff done! Next year will be better. I know DS and Sam have something planned with friends next Friday, maybe that will go better as I have done the bulk of paper work and information gathering this week!
The weather is cold, but we did get alot of sunshine yesterday. With the rain before and the sudden cold, we have aot of ice, ice that I fell good and hard one yesterday and feel it today!
Yesterday ran into some one that knows my son's boss at his new permanent part time job at a school - he is working with special needs children, in integration- 2 days a week, ( he goes full time to McGill three days a week, and works 2 days a week at the school) and that friend told me his boss could only say nice things about his work and ability. That was my best gift this year! I felt proud! He was also on TV, they interviwed him about the plague of problems they have been having on the trains lately. He looks so grown up in the interview!
Well, I better get a few things done, the contractors will be coming soon about the bathroom!
Have a great day every one!
Good morning Del and all who follow from Central Florida where we are gonna have another better than average day. I still marvel at 80 degree temps in the middle of February. Just one of the reasons I love Florida.
Even though you are busy beyond belief Del it's good to see that you are feeling better. Was worried about your health. Stay well.
Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning Delft and Tweety and all to follow
Yes it is Saturday, not so nice here in SE Alabama as it is raining, started yesterday continue all night and is now slacking off. Not so bad for us, however my oldest son is an assistant Scoutmaster and they took the Troop out to camp last night and then he had to be up at 4:00 am to go to work. I sure do not miss those days.
As I look at my trusty countdown clock, I see where we leave for FLL, Florida in 2 days for our cruise, can't wait.
You all have a great Alabama Day.
Delft - Sure hope things slow down a little for you, remember with time all things improve. :D
Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter.
Lullabies, dreams and love ever after.
A thousand welcomes when anyone comes...
That's the Irish for You!
Good Morning Mates,
Chilly, again. Normal Feb. weather - supposed to have sun today, but it is pretty breezy, so it won't feel warm.
Yesterday was very hectic. Today is no better. Have to bring dd to church for music practice - come home get ready for my running around. Have to pick up a friend at 9:30 to take her to some home party thing of another lady at church we have been invited too.
A quick stop at the grocery store - need some asparagus.
Home - then try to do all the stuff I did not get done yesterday - which is a lot. I am already feeling like I would need a nap.
Delft - hope things calm down a tad - you son is a gem!
Irish - hope your all packed!
Happy Valentines Day to you All,
Good morning Delft, Tweety, Irish and all who follow:
Am so sorry to read about your tribulations Delft, but it sounds as if you’re handling them as the pro you undoubtedly are. I’m sure there are a lot of folks who wish their son could be as responsible as is yours. You have every reason to be so proud.
Tweetie, that’s why folks move to Florida and while a whole lot of folks wish they were there right now as I write.
Irish, oh the tribulations of a Scoutmaster but gosh, what a contributions they make!
Welcome home to those from the first half of the Blog to NOLA. Sounds as if you had a fantastic time!
Fran and I are packing up in our motel after spending yesterday in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (the big tourist areas adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Went to a really cute little group of little shops built around a miniature golf course and called Walden’s Landing or something similar. It was only built a couple of years ago and heretofore, as we’d spent most of our time in Gatlinburg, we’d never visited. Well over half of the stores are vacant. The huge Belz Mall is virtually a ghost mall with one whole section completely empty (as I think I mentioned a month ago).
Those restaurants not closed for the season appear to be doing very well. All of the water parks, theaters, attractions, etc., etc., appear to be doing fine and are just now opening up and getting ready for, as Snuffy Smith might say, “The flatlander tourister season.” The traffic last night was more “normal” than what we last observed in January and the motel parking lots that we can see from our room appear quite full this morning. Hope things go well. Well, after a long hiatus (all the discount book stores are closing or have closed), I found three non-fiction books one of which is a history of the White House and of the other two len deals with a theater and the other a specific incident of WWII as the subjects. Around 60 bucks worth of books for $20.99.
Prayers continue for dear Luanne and her Jim, Judy, Delft and her Mum and Jen as well as all others needing that extra support and Blessings on everyone. Will check in from home later on.
Good morning everyone.
Happy Valentines day.
Morning All, from Montreal, where it is still in the minus teens. I am looking ahead 2 weeks from today when I will be boarding the Emerald Princess for 10 days of escape from this weather!
Delft, I remember your birthday is around Valentines Day, so Happy (belated) Birthday. I can understand you wouldn't feel much like celebrating this year. Good luck with taking care of business for your sister and mother. Isn't bureaucratic red tape wonderful?
Todd, sounds like a nice little break. I'm hoping to visit my favourite 2nd hand bookstore today, they're having a big sale!
Jen, hope you have a bit of "me" time in your busy day!
Irish, Bon Voyage!
I've got a bunch of errand to do today, then I look forward to a relaxing rest of the weekend.
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
Happy Valentines Day to all you Cruise Lovers
Good morning all. It is a gorgeous day here in Florida. Just perfect for the extra folks that seem to be around for the 3 day weekend.
Delft, I'm glad you have been able to get so much done, but hope you can manage to take some time just to relax. What a nice report to hear about your son. Those are the best gifts any mom can get.
Jen, hope you have time for a little quiet today too.
Prayers going out for Luanne, Jen, Delft, and all my Cruisemates family today.
Good morning all from a wet Florida panhandle. It started raining last night and is suppose to rain until tomorrow.
My daughter called last night begging me for huge favor, I knew what she wanted before she ever said anything, to keep the kids. Well it seems a friend of theirs works someplace that gave him tickets for the Daytona 500 tomorrow and the tickets were for a suite and had passes to go meet Kasey Kahn, which is her favorite driver. I consented and now I will have the grandkids for the week-end. I don't relish the fact of having to entertain them all week-end inside the house. If you all hear a scream, it will be me.........
Everyone have a great day and Happy Valentines day to all.
It is Saturday
Good morning from Southern California. We're at the drippy stage. The sun is shining, and as I look out, the deck is still soaked. "The big one" has stalled somewhere or other, so we're good to go to Pasadena tomorrow night.
Have a good day, all.
Good Morning Cruisemates,
Wishing you all a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! :) :) I slept in to recover from yesterday's first grade celebrations. I am not sure what is in store for today. Probably a few errands, laundry, and catching up.
To those of you who are struggling our thoughts go out to you. Sometimes holidays make those times harder.
Our snow from yesterday is partially melted. It is gray and cloudy right now.
Good evening, from in the upper fortie's, Virginia Beach. I have been off line for two days since Rob was in the hospital. Wednesday afternoon, Rob came home from work early complaining of chest pains. He went to the emergency care place located right next door to the Sentara Leigh Hospital. Thank G-d, they put him in the hospital as a preventative measure. He did not have a heart attack and was told that his heart was in great shape; good news since he had a heart attack almost five years ago. What caused the pain could have been the schotsky's ring, sarcoidosis, or irritable bowel syndrome. Todd I hope that you and Fran are having a good time in the Smokey Mountains. Yes, Gatlinburg is worth the visit and also the Cherokee Casino not far from that. Hope all of my fellow cruisemate hada great Valentine's day!
