Default Emerald Princess, Part 13 THE END

Emerald Princess, Part 13 The End

The Last Sea Day

What a way to begin our last day onboard - we were awakened at 7:30 a.m. by Room Service, promptly delivering our pre-ordered Champagne Breakfast. Nice to go out in style.....

It was a dull, cloudy, windy and cool morning, to match our well-deflated mood. I hate the last day!
We tried sitting out on the upper deck, but it was cold and windy and quite deserted.

I spent most of the morning packing and doing some last minute shopping, then rushed off to join Phyllis and Paul for Trivia. Guess what? We came in 2nd place once again!

At lunchtime, I met up with James for yet another lunch in the British Pub. This time I tried the Cottage Pie, and he had Bangers and Mash, and both were delicious. Between us, on the 3 Pub days, we tried all 4 of the offerings and all were exceptionally good.

By noon, the sun had made an appearance, so we took advantage of it to enjoy our last afternoon at sea soaking up the rays on the upper deck near The Sanctuary, where it was quiet and less windy.
I spent the whole afternoon here in my glory - the sea, the sun, my music and a good book, what more could a girl ask for?

At 4:30 I ran in to join Phyllis, Jake and Paul for Passenger Inspired Trivia. The passengers had submitted questions and answers during the week, and the staff picked 20 questions to ask us on the last day.
Despite the fact that I had submitted 2 of the questions, we still only managed a pitiful 9 points out of 20!
Our early week winning streak sure came to a screeching halt in the latter part of the week!
Winners or Losers, our CruiseMates team had a great time!

Dinner this night was rushed, as we wanted to make the 8:30 show. We even skipped dessert and coffee!
Unfortunately, the final show with both the comedian and the magician was not worth rushing for.
It lasted less than 45 minutes, and was a little disappointing in its lack of excitement.
When the highlight of your act is the appearance of your little white dog to help with a card trick, you know you're in trouble!

Following the show, we met up with Phyllis and Jake and Paul (Peggy was in the casino) in the Crooners Bar to listen and participate with "Barty" Brown and his delightful piano playing and trips down memory lane.

I was finally tempted to try one of the specialty martinis, so James and I ordered a chocolate-banana martini.

Despite its tasty promise, prettily decorated glass, and a shaking and pouring demonstration by a very talented waiter, the end product was just horrible tasting!
I took them both to the bar and asked the bartender if I could trade them both in for a couple of Baileys, and he very generously handed me 2 Baileys on the rocks!

All too soon it was time to say goodbye to our CruiseMates friends and go our separate ways.
We headed back to our cabin to finish off a bottle of wine, and found ourselves standing out on our balcony with a full moon, a clear sky full of stars, a calm sea, and the lights of 2 other ships in the distance - pure magic!

THE END

Seems like it was a nice cruise. You are much more patient than I, who gave up trying to load pics because I had to do them one by one.

Very enjoyable, Donna - nice to see pix of you and James and Phyllis and Jake again.

Thursday I'm off to FLL and sail on Friday. Got the clothes packed today - rest of the stuff tomorrow after I deliver Muffy to my neighbors down the street ... that will be the hardest part about cruising.

Again RDonna, I was so sad to see your review end.

Maybe we should all pitch in and send you and James on another cruise just so we could read another of your reviews!

Great Job!

Todd

GREAT JOB Donna! The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I enjoyed each and every part of your review. REALLY makes me anxious to get back aboard another Princess ship, so I'm very happy that we have booked "RUBY" for December 4th. Come on along,,,we'll do it all over again. 8)

OH NO!!!!!!!! Don't tell me it's over again.

Thank you so much for putting this all together. I know it takes a lot of time and work to do this. I have enjoyed cruising along with you for a second time through your memories and pictures. Now at least I can just come back here and pick a day and relive it a little bit whenever I want.

Phyll
