Are you a memorabilia collector of your favorite cruise lines? Tee shirts, magnets, mugs? How about books on the ship you are sailing, to add to your library? Model ships? Daily menus? Can you get lost in the shop onboard that sells everything shippy?
How about vintage liner collectibles...One Christmas my son gave me a menu from the Queen Mary's menu, Saturday, July 2, 1938. Some of the things on the menu, like, roast haunch of mutton, or herrings a la sardines, I would pass on, but the old graphics are great!

We have been collecting ship models for awhile. I also try to get a Christmas ornament from each ship we've been on, and from each port we've visited. Not to mention ship fridge magnets....my fridge is getting heavy!
My hubby who always wears a baseball cap, tries to collect a hat from each ship as well.
I used to collect magnets from each ship and each port,,,but I made the mistake of buying a stainless steel refrigerator,,, magnets won't stick to it. So now I have to figure out what to do with them all.
I get a t-shirt and a cap from each ship that I sail. What I don't want is what I lovingly call: M.S.T.D's. (More Stuff To Dust) Also I don't call it "stuff".
I collect caps: At last count I had over 100 caps from cruise ships, countries and interesting places I've visited. I cycle them out all the time. I can't stand the "trucker" type of cap and look for caps that are all cloth and fit closer to the head.
I also have quite a few beer mugs from different pubs I've visited in England, Wales and Scotland.
Take care,
Mike

Jo Anne, you could make a collage ,with some interesting magnets, along with some other cruise stuff. These deep friames, could hold all your memories, in a small space....

I'm trying to collect "24 karet gold, plastic, pieces of ship on a stick" from all the Carnival ships. The collection is coming right along, but I've got several more to go after. (This makes a GREAT excuse to book more cruises too.) 8)

another solution; take a large corkboard and attach a white metal panel to it with liquid nail; make a nice boarder out of a beachy looking material and then you can hang it with all your magnets on it; the metal can be purchased cut to size; you can probably paint it whatever color you want
I am doing something similar with an old ratty corkboard; applying a beach scene to it and using old hat pins to attach my travel stuff, menu's; sailway photos, etc stuff that I can switch around so it isn't just sitting in a box with no one looking at it. (Once that one is done, I am going to do one for golf trips and then one for Vegas trips with different cloth backgrounds)
to answer Trip's original question, I don't collect cruise souveniers on purpose, I thought I was going to collect the drink of the day glasses, I just found my very first one from the Big Red Boat and will keep that one, but I just don't have the room for stuff. I do "collect" Hard Rock t-shirts but I usually wear them

I forgot to mention pins! I always collect lapel pins from everywhere I travel.
I display them on a backpack that I use for travelling. I have a section for all the cruise ships, all the islands, all the other random places I've visited, and my Canadian section as well.
I wish all cruise ships would give or sell ship pins like Carnival does.
Every time I go on Carnival I get a free pin with the ship's name on it.
All other ships, I have to hunt for, and they usually don't have any!
About to add ship #7 to my collection from Carnival!

I have no collection of things from my cruises. I do still have my first souvenir from my first cruise in 1983. It is a key chain that has "The Fun Ships" and the Carnival logo as it was back then. The other side has the Carnival fleet as it was back then Carnivale, Festivale, Mardi Gras and Tropicale. That keychain has been in use every day in the 26 years since that cruise. It is a happy reminder of my first cruise.
