Default Good Morning Friday

It is a wonderful Friday morning.

I am currently sitting in First Class on the high speed Thalys train between Brussels and Paris. I just completed breakfast which included wonderful croissants. I have a meeting in Paris today and will take the train home tonight. I never would have thought that I would ever be going to Paris for a day trip.

Hope everyone is doing well and has a great weekend.

Good Morning Marc and all CM's to follow. I thought I was the only one up this early. I have been up starting the morning thread at CTC. It is going to be another hot one here in Lakeland. Getting into the 90's. Sounds like a trip to the pool later. Have a wonderful day CM's

Good Morning Marc and Cruisnut2 and all to follow

Yes it is another Friday and a day closer to the weekend. I have my Honey-Do List projects lined up and ready to go.

Marc - We have not been to Paris in several years, I wonder how much it has changed. Train travel another one of our favorite ways to travel. Enjoy yourself.

I am sure that Fran and Todd are enjoying their selves.

Good Morning CruiseMates!
I hope today proves to be a wonderful gateway to the weekend for all of you. Marc sounds like you're having a great day already.

Well yesterday was productive. No major issues, two games at once and aside from a couple of scraped knees and elbows, it was two stunning performances. I am proud of my little kiddos for their tenacity. They may not be the best players on the team, but they sure do try hard, and they show lots of heart.

Today, I have to go to the Dermatologists, I would like him to take care of some sun damaged skin. Unfortunately back in the 60's and 70's when I was a kid, sunscreen didn't seem to be on many people's radar screens, and our parents didn't limit our time in the sun. We'd often end up with blistering sunburns at the beginning of summer, until our skin was sufficiently roasted to get a dark tan. Then once I hit my teens I lifeguarded every summer. Now of course life is a lot different. We use 50 sunscreen and the kids are out for an hour or two then made to take cover in the shade for a while. I used to hop on my bike in the morning, and ride it a mile to the pool and I wouldn't return until late in the day. Much redder and worse for wear. So I have some areas that need some laser therapy, others may need something more drastic. Last night I was laughing as I said to d/h, that I sure hope I don't show up at my High School reunion looking like I've been well baked or on the losing end of a knife fight as a result of the doctor's visit today.

D/D is the early riser today. In a bit I am going to hop in the shower, get cleaned up, drop the kiddos at the sitter and head out. Then when I return I will go out in the garage and start getting things ready for my garage sale tomorrow. I really don't have time for this, but it has to be done. I intended to have it today too, but I need to see the doctor more than have a garage sale lol.

D/H is off to work, it's nice to see him happy with his job. Life is too short to do something you hate for a living.

Well have a great day everyone. I hope Delft is doing OK. I hope we hear how she's doing soon. I think I may go touch base with Ray and check on Helen. I trust she's doing well. Make the most of the day folks!

Good Morning Mates,

The skies continue to weep torrents of tears this morning - and it seems as if the thick grey veil shall never lift.

Marc - I think I missed something. I knew you were no longer in Japan, but when did you jump the pond, and where exactly is "home" at present?
Have a lovely day!

Fast Eddie - praying all goes well with you. Sorry you must go thru this procedure.

Judy - my prayers are with you too - so sorry you must endure these treatments.

Mike - glad you are home - will pray you can actually lay low and recoup for the required amont of time. Just think lots of time to pet Kramer - now it doesn't really get any better than that!

Delft - hugs - prayers!

Luanne - prayers continue to flow your way.

Todd/Fran - O the visions I have of you this morning aboard your vessel, on the sea! Bliss - to be sure.

Yesterday was my last day with my niece for a long time - my true "bosom friend...kindred spirit" borrowing the words from Anne Shirley of course. We lunched at at little spote about an hour away - called the Wine Gate - a very small place - we dined out of doors.
This place could be awesome - a lovely spot in an old building near the Old Depot - We did a Wine Flight - the Caboose (as we are so near the tracks) - 3 wines - our choice. Our favorite was as reisling - I think it was called Flying Fish - and it is from Washington St. I believe a portion of all glasses sold is given to the marine conservatory - or something...my memory.
The food - horrible!!!! Chicken Curry rice soup - how can a curry soup have absolutely no taste? If there had been a salt or pepper shaker on the table perhaps I could have helped it along.
We had soup and half a sandwich - I chose the Pilgrim - white bread with maybe one piece of deli turkey - maybe a teaspoon of dressing - all in one little lump, a very small amount of cranberry sauce - but the mayo was abundant - dripping out - unfortunately it was surely some very inexpensive brand as that had no taste either.
I probably won't go back.

We then explored the main street - got a trinket or too, then we spied a nail salon and started our mani/pedis - then we got looking around. I was dismayed at the amount of nail clippings left all over the floor - even in the waiting area. How did we miss it when we went in to check the prices?
We just kept exchanging looks, and I mostly prayed we would not get any infectious disease. She took some pics w/ her cell phone and her dad - who works for the State will be making phone calls! Dear me! My nails do look dazzling tho
We then headed home, and I gave her a bag of "essential" for her time at camp. I am just dismayed and summer looks very long.

I am getting ready for a road trip next week - I can't seem to sit still.
I will be going to New Brunswick, Canada. I will be staying with a dear friend - her sister's birthday is on Tuesday, so I will surprise her. She is much like Delfts sister - and I spend hours each week online with this woman as she is so desperately lnnely. People don't take time to befriend her because of her mental capabilities and needs - she is pretty proficient managing her Facebook account - so we chat almost every night. I am hoping this visit will really boost her spirits, and allow her to know that she is special and loved.
It will be a long few days for me - as it can be draining.

Today and tomorrow wil be spent at church helping a friend with her daughters graduation party. Today we will make the food. Tomorrow I will go and fill finger sandwiches, then do all the serving/dishes...etc. so my friend can be the hostess and not worry about the food and such. I want her to truly be able to enjoy the day and her guests and not worrying about sandwiches, salads and coffee. This is an amazing woman who is a blessing to so many - she is the administrator of our local office that helps adults like my friend above...her whole life is a ministry to them - she is also very involved with her two daughters - a loving mother and is on the school board. How she does it all I will never know!

So, I guess it is time to go and be productive. I have rambled on so. I have been trying not to do that as I am sure I must bore you all to tears.

Hope your day includes something very special for each and every one of you -

Morning All, from Montreal, where it is just as dull as Vermont.
Rained overnight, and probably most of today as well, but at least it is warming up to maybe 23C (73F).

Jen, if you get too lonely this summer, take a drive to Montreal and we can meet for lunch - somewhere where the sandwiches and soup are presentable!
I hope you are enjoying my descriptions of dinner on the Freedom, I made notes especially for you!

Eddie Good Luck with the surgery. It's not pleasant, but I'm hoping the results will be worth it for you as they were for me.

Mike Glad to hear your surgery went fairly well, and that you are home resting. Let Betty take good care of you and don't overdo it!

Beenie I know what you mean about sun damage. When I think what my friends and I used to do at the local pool - mix iodine into a bottle of baby oil, slather ourselves all over, then lie in the sun with one of those foil reflectors - OMG it's a wonder we have any skin left!!

Marc train travel is our 2nd favourite way to travel, but I have to admit, we've never been to Paris. I'm boarding a train this morning too, but it's only a commuter train to work....

Thank goodness it's Friday, it's seemed a very long week around here.
Tonight after work, all of our daycare staff is going out for our annual end-of-the-year dinner. We're going to a great Greek restaurant to enjoy some wonderful food, drink and merriment - we are always a crazy bunch when we do these things!

Hello all from a drippy, humid, overcast central Connecticut.....

I have to say that I am impressed with the ability to send an email from a moving train an ocean away....say what you will, technology does have it's good points....Marc, I hope you enjoy Paris...we were there 10 years ago for a couple of days as part of a tour...not enough time, and someday we hope to go back...too bad it wasn't a port so we could go there on a ship.....

...sure hope everyone has a good week end...continued best wishes and prayers to all....

Better late than never! It has been a busy morning for me. Finished loading the motorhome, got hubby out the door, cleaned up around the house, got my grandaughter out for a day with her cousin, ran to the bank, took my shower and now am checking in. Hubby is due home shortly after noon so we can head out for the weekend. Just hope this crazy wet weather goes away for awhile. We had a terrible storm last night, thunder, lightning, lots of wind and of course RAIN! We are lucky we live higher up as some folks are fighting the water from overflowing streams.
I got the results of my Wednesday MRI and I guess it is good news. I have bulging and compressed disks in my neck which are pinching a nerve. I will see my regular Dr. Monday to get the plan of attack. His office called with the info and said he wants to send me to a specialist for treatment. Something called an EMG, which if I understand is a form of shock treatment. It this fails then possilble surgery.
Our prayer list is growing so I will make sure to send out prayers to all.
Have a great weekend.

Default Good Friday Morning

Vt,Jen expressed it so well: " . . .the thick grey veil shall never lift." Here in CA, the veil is expected to last thru the weekend.

Marc, I've never been to Paris and probably never will, so I am, indeed, envious.

No big plans here. I will do some housework while Keith is at the gym.

Have a good day, all!
