Default Won a cruise at bingo on Serenade of the Seas

Just returned from a fabulous Alaska cruise on Royal Caribbean. Not
only did we have record high temps and no rain whatsoever, we won a
7-night Caribbean cruise for 2 at Royal Bingo!
Of course, there are several restrictions. It excludes major holiday
sailings, as well as June and July sailings, stateroom categories are
inside or outside, and it can be booked no earlier than 30 days prior
to sailing. We live in British Columbia, so our airfare will be fairly
costly.
Has anyone else won a cruise from the cruise line? With all the
restrictions, were you able to find a suitable cruise, or did you end
up forfeiting the cruise due to the lack of options?
Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
Joan

Lucky duck!! Even with all the restrictions, I am sure, once you sttle on a date., it will work out swimingly...Try looking at the Mexican Riviera, that way you are just flying down the coast .......also,maybe one who leaves from San Fransiscodown the coast....good luck and enjoy!

I'm jealous I thought for a second you might see of Royal has a ship that goes from Vancouver to Hawaii. But now I see it's a Carribean cruise. Does it have restrictions on which ports you can cruise? Sadly I have never won anything like this.

The cruise has to be a 7 night Caribbean; embarkation ports can be Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, San Juan, Tampa, or Galveston; stateroom can be inside or outside; blackout dates are Christmas, Easter, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, and June or July sailings; can be booked no earlier than 30 days prior to sailing; and it's not valid on new ships during inaugural year (Oasis of the Seas). Stateroom category upgrades and 3rd and 4th guests in the same stateroom can be booked for additional fees, based on availability.

We are hoping to sail from San Juan in May 2010. The ship is in port almost every day, so if we end up with an inside stateroom, we won't have to spend any time in it. It will be the same ship we just sailed, and our waiter said to let him know when we are sailing and he will put us at his table again. He was wonderful.

JoBon, Congratulations!
I'm sure you will be able to book a cruise around the restrictions, just do your research.
I won a cruise last year, from a local mall, and the only restriction was the price - basically a $3,000 voucher to choose whatever, whenever and wherever you wanted, within the following year.
We had no problem choosing the Caribbean Princess to the Caribbean!

May is a great time to cruise the weather is nice. I have looked at the San Juan cruise, but the air fare was my problem. However, if the cruise is free and the only charge is air fare that changes everythings. We were in St. Marteen late April 08 and it was pretty warm.
