Default And, I quote........

While I have never been real big on quotations, the one below my tag line, I got off a beach calendar, and it seemed to fit my tropical theme. I seem to be paying more attention to them now, for whatever reason, and came across this one which I thought hit the nail on the head...

"A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it."
George Moore

I see many Cruisemates enjoy quotations from their signatures, do you have an absolute favorite?

I have many actually and I use them alot. I change the tags on email quite often. Many are soul searching life lessons, and alot have to do with animal rescue and life, but I particularily like some that get my message across when I am ticked off.....

One of my all time fav's is

Wipe your mouth, there's still a tiny bit of B.S. on your lips

Its ever so effective when dealing with teens, students, and employee's that I catch at Macdonalds while they are supposed to be working............

I kind of like my current tagline.

I think my favorites, though, are

"Who is John Galt?

and

"I am as mad as hell and I am not going to take this anymore"

A bartender (Warren) on the Carnival Pride told me a good quote. I don't know who originally said it but this is it:

Don't complain (non "b" word substituted) if you feel you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. Just brag about how strong you are.

I like that one.

Take care,
Mike

I have 2 that I like:

"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."

And as we all know, it's TS Eliot .....

and then there's:

"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."

I used to work with a guy who had a sign in his office that said:

"Things are more like they are today than they have ever been before."

Still trying to figure that one out......

One of my faves is from Apocalypse Now, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

An elderly gentleman on a ship once told me:

"I got out of bed this morning,,,,I looked back at the bed,,,,,I wasn't there,,,,,so it's going to be another GOOD day."

I also love:

"It ain't over til the fat lady sings." and

"It ain't over,,,til it's over"

" Press on: nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. "

I don't remember who said it, but wow, ain't it the truth?

May be paraphrased since I didn't hear it directly:

...and on a serious note, this one, which I have only recently come across, really touched me:

"Life is not about seeking shelter from the storm; it's about learning how to dance in the rain."
