Where it sails from will be my deciding factor. Single supplement and airfare would probably price me out of it.

WOW, what a concept! We could all dig out our '60s clothing that's probably still hanging in the closet, and dress the part. I'd have to dye my hair back to the beautiful jet black it used to be. (HMM,,maybe I'll just get one of those "Elvis Wigs") We'd all have to take lots of "grease" and hair gel to slick back our beautiful locks. Poodle skirts and penny loafers would have to come out, and all in all,,,,it sounds like a lot of fun to me. (Boy,,,wouldn't we freak out all the other passengers who don't know what's going on?)
Venice, I'll bet you'd make a GREAT Frankie Valli. We'd have to pick out someone to sing "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee".....

Ken, not all of us were old enough to have a poodle skirt in the 50's

Ken...I was probably the only kid in my school that thought Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were better then the Four Tops I know every word to every one of their hits (sometimes my son is so ashamed of me when I tell him these things)

OK, you all are having TOO much fun here! I was a mere babe back in the mid '50's, but I remember having a poodle skirt when I was in elementary school! Can I tag along and be one of the lip-singing Pink gals with Laura? The room would clear if I "sang" too, but I can ham it up in front of an audience & shoo-whop in the background!

Oh, & does winning the week's Grand Prize at Bingo - $4,000 count? SURE did to me! Nice way to end a cruise even if I had to split the prize with another woman who had Bingo. Other than that, I've won a t-shirt, etc. in slot tourneys.

Yay DonnaP another "pink girl" to sing with. I think this could be done and sooooooooooooo much fun. $4000 at bingo wow!! I have won $150 a few times and some gold jewelry over the years. In another thread I told the story of how I used to pay for my cruises with my bingo winnings. That was back in the day when I played bingo every night.
I would love to see this concept come to life. I think the 50's theme would make a great CruiseMates Group.

Yep, we'll have to run this one by the "Moose". Kat is going to be one of the "Pink Ladies" too,,,,or else maybe she can come up with one of the characters she'd rather be. Who's going to be the Coach, and who could play the Principle of the school? Both great roles in this classic movie/play.

Very COOL Kat. O.K.,,You've got the "Marty" role. Any other casting that needs to be done????
Venice, I really liked The Four Seasons too. I just couldn't, and still can't sing an octave above everyone else, in falsetto! (Actually, I can do it, but not for a whole song.) Let's see,,,how about "Sherry Baby"?
We've gone WAY beyond just getting a "Ship on a Stick" at this point. Now, it's all about HAVING FUN!

Yesterday as we were posting this I found that Grease was on the Bravo channel then following it was Grease 2. I did not get a chance to see it and have never seen the movie.

Ken..I saw Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Latin Casino in the late 60's..he wore tight pants which is why he can sing so hi

the only other artist that i know can sing that hi is Aaron Neville of the Neville Brothers

Grease the movie never appealed to me..Oliva Newton John does appeal to me Is CQ going to play Oliva's part in our production number on the Oasis of the Seas on our upcoming CM group cruise

I think you tipped me off as to how I can sing falsetto songs!

Now that you mention it, Aaron Neville is absolutely GREAT! Man-o-man, what a voice!

I think maybe CQ could be Oliva Newton John with no problem aboard OAS. Roller Donna has the part nailed on the "yet to be announced" Cruisemates Donna and Ken "GREASE" cruise. We can, of course, use more "Pink Ladies" on that one. 8)

Posting a picture is easy once you know how. It took me a long time to learn.

The picture has a different website address then the internet web address. for example: this is the internet address for a picture in my album. http://www.cruisemates.com/gallery/image.php?id=73980
this is the picture address for the same picture.
http://www.cruisemates.com/gallery/galleries/4729/73980.jpg

Thank you!

Laura
Notice the JPG at the end. How to get the picture address is:
1. Right click on the picture and a menu pop up will appear
2. Click properties that pop up will have a URL address that is the pictures address.
3. Copy and paste it into your message then highlight the address and hit the Img buttom and the top of the message boom you have a picture.
In order to do this it means I have to publish all my pictures to a place like snapfish or photobucket? I am not so sure I like that idea. Is there no way to post them from my collection within my computer? I installed an application in my forum that allows me and all the members to do that. Works great and is very esay.

Hi Laura,
I don't know of a way for you to post a picture directly from your computer. As so as I know it has to be on the internet somewhere. You could put the pictures into the cruisemates photo gallery. Instead of on Photobucket. I can also post pictures from my Facebook account. I think only my accepted "friends" can see those pictures. So that is a way to have more control.

Thanks Kat. I really think all forums should have the handy gadget my forum has. It is too easy and you can choose your pics from your computer. The gadget is free to all forum owners too.

If this comes to fruition and we do end up as a group are they going to let you take the car on the ship??

In the Big Show featuring all the "Beatles" music, they have a mock-up of a double decker bus! I've also noted a VW Beetle, and two or three different motorcycles. (They're basically real!) I don't think they'll let me have my '49 Merc. 8)

This sounds like so much fun. I really hope it comes down to being a CruiseMates group. The chance to meet more of my CM friends is always welcome.

AH, if only it were true! Sandy, you and I could ROCK THE HOUSE, I'm sure. Well Donna, get settled into your new home, and we'll see what the Moose and company has to say about this one.

I have 3 plastic ships on a stick. I was on a quest to earn one and tried for over 10 cruises until I earned my first one.

Now we cruise with a couple we met about 5 cruises ago and the four of us are hell-bent on earning one on every cruise.

Regards,
Thomas

I have a ship on a stick. I got it on our first cruise on Liberty (2006?). I won a slot tournament. The $500 was great, but I still have my ship on a stick. $400 of the cash was gone in 10 minutes. I took it straight to the purser's office and paid down our sail and sign card.

They cost a lot, and they are cheap to manufacture. But hey ho they are a souvenir of the experience so in some ways worth their light weight in gold
