Default Sports Stadium

OK this is a sports stadium. But it has a historic background. Where is the stadium and what was it used for? Hint we were there during one of our cruises.

Berlin, 1936 Olympics..Jesse Owens won 3 Olympic Gold medals and Hitler rather then honor the Olympic tradition of shaking an Olympic Champions hand, left the stadium

I'm just guessing

The only olympic sites I have visited is the one in Mexico City - Montreal
and the Ocoee River in Tenn where they did the white water stuff during the Atlanta Games - they teams that took part of the white water races stayed in the dorms at the University my kids go too.

So, I know it is not any of them

Can't help with this one but if someone is prepared to cheat they would have a good chance at guessing?

This picture gives you a hint as to where the stadium is.

Guess Venice didn't nail it.

If there's a crocodile in the middle of the statue, it's Stalingrad. But what leads me to possibly think it isn't is that the statue was in the middle of a square in or near the city center of town and this sure doesn't appear to be in the center of the city.

Well this is probably wrong, but I like to guess. So Malaga, Spain and it's a bullfighting ring.

I think that is rain, not snow. But I'm from California so how do I know what snow looks like.

my guess is Barcelona. The pic of the church looks like The Sagrada FamÃ*lia church.

After a little checking, that stadium was built for the 1936 Olympics bid, which lost out to Hitler's Berlin Games.

The stadium is in Barcelona. The runways are partly covered with water not snow.

Captain Tennille was the first to give the correct answer. He gets the reward. But I had to give a couple of hints.
