The clouds have rolled in and the showers will soon descend again. I try not to complain, but I am getting tired of it. If we could have more than one or two days in a row without rain I would be appreciative. O well, that is my whine for the day. I have used it, now I have none left.
I am watching a little news clip about a book called the Finest Hours commending the Coast Guard, it sounds very interesting.
Off to church in a bit. DH is on call and he has just left on a call out - water gushing out of the base of a power pole that was set a week ago.
BW - thanks for the update on the kids. Glad they are doing well.
Everything is mundane here, so I have nothing to really share,
Wishing you all a very happy day,
Good Morning CruiseMates!
Ahhhh, I have just sat down with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. It is good to see Jen's post so bright and early this morning. It's funny but I miss everyone when they're not here, and I really look forward to our morning get together here on the chit chat thread.
Jen I must apologize, when I got rid of our miserable weather yesterday, I didn't mean to send it your direction.
We've had a bit of a run on laptops lately around here. We've had two completely die and a third is on its way. They all lived good long lives, but it was beyond our control. So I have been making due with the Weee PC, which is wonderful to travel with and occasional use, but my eyesight isn't the greatest for small items and the 8 inch screen was really a challenge at best. I found a few bargains and a few days ago my new 22 in. monitor arrived and yesterday my new computer arrived via FedEx. So yesterday was pretty overcast and rainy, so we spent the day installing the OS and other things and downloading all of my emails etc... It's funny but out of the past month's 2400 emails I only kept 44 of them. So much junk finds its way into my inbox. I haven't had a desktop computer for many years but I am really liking the very small case, and the very large monitor. It is so easy on my eyes.
Today d/h and I need to attack the washer. Earlier last week the repairman came and worked on it. He took it down off the anti vibration pads and when he left he never put it back on them. So I cannot use it until that is fixed. Don't even get me started. Grrrr Sears! Like I need one more thing to do.
I don't think there's too much else going on today. I of course will have lots of laundry to do. D/H said he will be making crepes and sausages for breakfast and I need to get the house cleaned up. I have four trees out in the yard waiting to be planted, not sure if I will get around to that or not today. Pretty soon all of the nursery's will start marking things down. I would like to pick up a few flowering trees like lilac or something to plant this fall. That too won't get done today, but soon, I hope.
Well enjoy your Sunday folks! Tomorrow it's Monday once more and back to the salt mines.
Good Morning CruiseMates, It is a sunny morning here in Lakeland 79 now but will be hot later.
Jen, I am sorry it still rains there Summers in my beloved New England are short enough without being taken up by rain and cold.
Beenie, You certainly have much to do today. Find time to relax and enjoy the new computer.
For me I am off today and I plan to relax at the pool for a while at least.
Have a wonderful day today my friends.

Yes it is Sunday and will soon wake up my D/W with her "Good Morning" cup of coffee. Then breakfast and then leave for church.
We like Jen have had our share of "Liquid Sunshine" I hope that it does stop before tomorrow, I hate working in the rain. When I was younger I used to have to lay in the weather for hours (Army) and really grew to dislike the wet stuff.
My biggest challenging this weekend will be to mop the kitchen and dinning room while my Better Half is shopping.
Well you all have a great Alabama Day!
Here's to me, and here's to you,
And here's to love and laughter-
I'll be true as long as you,
And not one moment after.
It is a bright and sunny day here in the "Land of not enough rain". I guess Jen is getting the rain that's missed us. We're 8 inches below normal for the summer.
Yesterday we attended my granddaughter's summer play of Beauty and the Beast. It was great and my granddaughter made a good Gypsy. The plays are put on a by a couple who travel to different towns and cast, choreograph and put on the plays in one week. Doing a play in one week sounds weird but everyone was amazed at what they accomplished in that week. The play was VERY good and complete with songs and choreographed dance. Not bad when the kids are 7-14. They sure got the best out of the kids. My granddaughter isn't the most "coordinated" but she did a wonderful job of dancing. She loved it and wants to be in more plays. It sure was fun watching her dance and sing.
BW: I love my little "Netbook". I originally bought an Acer and liked it but saw the Samsung and sold the Acer to my son and bought the Samsung. It can handle 2 GB of memory and has a clearer screen. I'm starting to use it more than my large laptop.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and a fantastic week.

Good morning all!!! Been a bit since I posted. Spent a good week on vacation in Cape Cod and came back to chaos and disorder at work. So I had little time to post morning greetings.
Seems like cruising will be far in the future for Marj and me since we are now getting ready for Janna's Key West wedding in January (three down, one to go )
Rain and storms are on the menu today. It has been so wet here I have the monster mushroom from hell growing in one of the flower beds. I am sure the wet weather has helped our tomato plants grow over six feet tall. Mike, we would be happy to share with you.
Everyone have a great day!!!

We have not had the kind of rain, others seem to be having.. .some brief showers, and some overnight too..we missed a microburst, a good thing...we also were at the tail end of one several years back, when we just lost a big branch, while the reat of the street and beyong got hit bigtime....
Not sure what is on the agenda today, maybe a trip to the dollar store Bruce is out on his bike now.. I am in the midst of James Patterson's newest, The Swimsuit, which is a page turner! Maybe also, peruse the hotel sites for a bargain for the cruise coming up....
Make it a good one.
Trip, with her book & tea!

We too have had tons of rain this past month but strangely, at the end of the month we were still 2 tenths of an inch below average and yeah Doug, we two have had those mushrooms only ours occurred smack dab in the middle of the yard. At least yours had good graces to hide themselves amongst the flowers.
Nothing on the agenda save the NASCAR race from Long Pond PA that, in all probability, will be postponed until tomorrow as the forecast for that area pretty much precludes automobile racing. If it is postponed, than they'd probably run it tomorrow around 11:00 am. That's but one reason I'm glad I'm retired as I can still watch it!
Gotta' get back to helping Fran with her housecleaning and laundry chores.
Speaking of laundry, hope B/W that you and your husband are able to get your washer back on the shock absorbers.
Prayers of course continue for all of those needing them along with the request for Blessings on all.
