Default Mrs. Geoge Smith to re-marry

I just heard on our local news here in Connecticut, that Mrs George Smith is planning to re-marry. I certainly hope that she and her new husband don't go on a honeymoon cruise.

Wow that was quick.

Maybe a land vacation would be better for the two since a cruise vacation might bring back sad memories.

There was no actual proof, except in the court of public opinion, so I wouldn't label her as "The Black Widow" just yet.

It's been well over a year so her "appropriate" time of mourning is past.

I think Betty would be remarried right after the insurance check cleared.

Take care,
Mike

I agree with Mike. Its been four years since the death, enough time to pass to remarry. I never saw anything to indicate that she murdered any one. News reports seem to indicate they were both drinking heavily. That no doubt influenced what ever happened.

I got to say that this womens husband died in 2005. Do you guys seriously think that 4 years is quick to re marry? I think maybe we all feel like time flies and maybe don't realize it's been as long as four years, that or you have not seen wat I have in life which is a guy moving in to another man's bed, when she has children........just three months after her husband died................

I agree with you it's been 4 years and she was never convicted or even charged for a crime (as far as I know). My opinion is she didn't commit a crime. They both got drunk, she passed out in the hallway and he went back to the room. We have lots of examples of drunk people attempting to walk on the balcony railing (which is never a good idea). This was a sad accident I wish her well and hope she has a happy life with her new husband. I do agree she shouldn't book a honeymoon cruise.

I guess my question is, why would you marry this woman if there's even the possibility that she killed him?

I am sorry, but there are many deaths with "possibilities" of people who could have "done it". Are these people forever not alloud to lead a life? She is never been charged let alone convicted. As a matter a fact anything I read point to it being if not an accident ( while drunk) an arguement/ altercation between one of four men he was seen with. I do think though the cruise ship did NOT act properly with regard to this investigation and ruling it an accident right away. Maybe every one should stay away from cruises because of this? Please note, that the news reports I have read specifically say this women was not a suspect by the FBI. Time to leave her alone. This women is entitled to go on with her life and I truly hope she has a happy life .

Even though she was never charged or convicted some folks will see it in their eyes that she is guilty. Same goes for Michael Jackson he was never charged or convicted either however people insist he did wrong.

I say if you have not been convicted or charged you have done nothing wrong. Go on with life and enjoy.

I agree CQ, but I also add that in the case of Michjael Jackson Law enforcement feel he was guilty, but in the case of this women, law enforcement have specifically said she was and is not suspected in this death.

I wish Mrs. Smith the best, and may Mr. Smith Rest In Peace (RIP)

as we know only God and the Devil and those involved in the altercation know what happened (and those guys were supposedly drunk) so any speculation we have is just that - speculation.

Once you hit the news you are never left alone!

law enforcement can think any thing just like the rest of the general public. However nobody knows for sure other then the folks that were there when it happened. Of course I'm refering to Ms. Smith too not only MJ.

Now OJ I not too sure about!

Wow...

I went to a LOT of trouble to not only write this case up for our readers as a news item but also to give our readers tons of background on the case - and you cite an AOL news source? Just poke me in the eye with a sharp stick.

NO, the point is that I wrote a lot of background to the story which other news outlets didn't give you, like a timeline of the events that night.

Paul, I think that you did an excellent job. Now it's time to close this case and let it rest.
