I have been in Mobile, AL since 8/1/09.
Temperature is 90-102 degrees during the day and drops all the way down to 78-82 at night.
Humidity stays right around 85%.
Here's a cute story....and very true.
When I got to the ship this morning, the fire room was about 105 degrees. It was so hot because the boilers had been lit off and the outside temp was about 92 degrees. The ventilation system just wasn't cooling the space at all.
I was sweating from places I didn't know I could sweat from. My clothes were absolutely soaked.
Around 1030, I drove to Florida (about 30 miles) to buy lottery tickets. On the drive there in my car I cooled down and dried out.
When I returned to the ship I proceeded to sweat my ass off and get soaked again.
Around 1430 I headed back to the hotel and again cooled off and dried out in the car.
I tell you all that to help you understand that I was not much to look at and was definitely reeking of body odor.
I stopped at Walmart to grab some beer.
Now the cute part...
While in line I hear this little girl behind me say, "Daddy doesn't smell like that" ....I was embarrassed until her mom said,"That's because Daddy doesn't work"
I thought I was gonna die!!
There was no malice in the little girl's voice....just an observation.
Her mom added "You'll want your husband to smell like him"

Rinker that's a great story! I love it! Along those same lines, today I once more tortured my son by forcing him to go shopping with me, it was a bit hot and humid here. I think the worst part was getting into the hot truck. Because of his recent surgery he hasn't been getting up and about much and has pretty much either been in the recliner or in bed. We've done a few showers with the leg covered in plastic and the rest were sponge baths. Well after we returned from our outing today, I went to lift d/s and his armpits were about level with my nose, it took my breath away! I told him he had a bad case of big boy B.O. His face lit up like a Cristmas Tree, a big smile crossed his face, his chest puffed out, and he exclaimed with pride!!!! MOM! My manly smell finally came in!

Dan, you and BeenieWeenie really came up with a couple of priceless classics. Reminds me B/W of Art Linkletter's TV show. Thanks ever so much to both of you for sharing!
