Well, that was a dumb bet. It was obvious all along what he would do.

It's not as easy as that. For one, the Vikings have a top three offensive line in the league. For two, the Packers switched to a 3-4 defense this year from the 4-3 they previously ran. That kind of switch can take a whole season to pick up. Also, by doing so, they effectively removed their best lineman from the line, and turned him into a linebacker. That won't help their chances of busting throung the Vikings offensive line. They may be salivating, but they'll slip on that saliva as they are stood up all game long by the stud offensive line of the Vikings. By the time they get up, AD will be in the end zone. Put it on the board!!!

I love trash talk, if the 49ers or the Raiders would get better I could join the trash talk. But sadly both my teams are having issues. Darren and Lisa you should join the football pool when it starts again. Its on the Jokes board. We will see how the Packers and Vikings do should be fun.

DarrenW, you wondered what I meant by saying check out the Green Bay papers on whose lives got messed up. Many packer fans love Favre, now he is the enemy. There has to be a lot of soul searching going on in Wi. As a Bears fan I hope his comeback is not good.

Actually, the Packers defense is looking good.....granted it is only preseason, but they have allowed only THREE points in two games. The first team offense is looking crisp.........ARod is looking better and better as time goes on. And Favre went 1 for 4 with 4 yards in his first game.....granted it was his first time with the ViQueens, but still.....those of us in the Packer Nation know what is in store for you, and we are laughing all the way to the bank! Favre will do well the first part of the season, but then the interceptions will creep up and you will taste what we have endured. You live by Brett and you die by him.

I will always have a lot of respect for what Favre has done.......he has accomplished so much and set so many records........but he is not infallible..............ask the Jets Fans!

Hannibal - do you remember where Jim McMahon played his last season in the NFL? It was with the Packers........did you Bears fans do a lot of "soul searching" that year?

HAHA, how'd that work out for you? For all you naysayers, you can apologize now. He's been brilliant for 14 weeks now. Too bad for the young guys? Maybe if they had Brett's skills, maybe they'd have a job.

He is still an old fart who can't make up his mind if he wants to retire or not. Next year he will do the same thing again. I hope he throws a bunch of interceptions or fumbles the ball with his old man fingers. Apologize never.

Holy bitter. Let go of it. Be happy about life. Why do his actions affect you so much? Jeez. Next time you can't decide if you want coffee or juice with your breakfast, realize you're NO DIFFERENT than he is.

It is interesting to see how all the nay sayers (Including Me) were wrong. I don' think Favre's body will last too much longer but it is a tribute to him on how well he has played.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong.

Take care,
Mike

Nope, at his age, he can earn all the money he wants, and still collect his Social Security, and keep his Medicare.

And when will any head coach have the balls to stand up to Favre? He should have taken a seat in the Carolina game when Childress wanted him to! Talk about a bad precedence for a team! It was a lost cause, but Brett's ego would not allow him to be taken out of the game. We, in Packerland lived with this for years........someone needs to tell Brett he is not in charge! Holmgren, McCarthy, Rhodes, Sherman.........all of them cowtowed to Brett. Now, the Vikings are the victim of Brett and only Brett........if his individual glory comes wrapped in team succes, great! But he will not put the team first!

"Then again, did Brett Favre really need to mention it? When it goes bad for Tom Brady(notes), he takes the blame and defends his teammates’ talent, effort, performance. When it goes bad for Favre, he starts talking about secrets.
“I was getting hit a little bit. I felt the pressure on a lot of plays.”
While Favre was rushed and pressured as he went 17-of-27 for 224 and one pick, he could’ve avoided at least a couple of those sacks. The guy holds onto the ball forever trying to make crazy plays, just one reason he’s become so easy to take down. Yes, his line was lousy, but he could’ve adjusted." Just goes to prove what I said in the previous post.....if his individual success comes great......if it comes wrapped in the team that is better......but he want his individual stats!

And the Vikiqueens head into the playoffs with a QB who in the past with a 13 win team imploded! (remember the OT game versus the Giants at Lambeau where Brett threw an INT in OT to give the Giants the win.)

I don't get it. What does the game against the Giants a few years ago have to do with any playoff games this season? Would the Vikings have to give the opponent a head start because of that particular play? I guess I'm confused.

She was referring to the PLAYOFFS, not a week 16 game.

Yep - he understands.........history repeats itself. You watch Favre for 16 years, you see the patterns and with one exception (1996 Superbowl), he always follows the pattern.

Let's examine his stats for the last two games played.

51 for 71 (71.2%), 637 yards, 6 TD.
From NFL.com, based on 121,486 people, Brett Favre should be this year's MVP.

Those votes are meanless. They say nothing about his ability or teamwork, just the people vote for him because he winning now. Once he loses in the playoffs that poll will change. Human nature we are front runners. If you are a Raiders, 49ers, or Kanas City fan then you are loyal.

So one can only be loyal to a losing team? If Oakland was 12-4, would their fans then be disloyal. I'm beginning to think Brett shunned you in high school or something. You have an unhealthy distaste for the man. Time to get over it.

BTW - MVP polling is done before the playoffs start.

I'm younger then Brett and I don't think he went to high school in California.

BTW there is a logical Fallacy in your post called False Cause: This fallacy establishes a cause/effect relationship that does not exist.

Just beacause I said 'Human nature we are front runners. If you are a Raiders, 49ers, or Kanas City fan then you are loyal." The doesn't imply the cause and effect releationship the fans of winning teams are disloyal. I never said that you implied a cause/effect relaitonship that doesn't exisit.

But your posts are always interesting and keep me on my toes.

Some of the same people who have dammed Brett to retirement for his so called old age are the same ones who have tried to get a job except at Wal Mart as a greater, and been turned down because of their age.

I say, You Go Brett. You retire when you want to. You have earned that right.

By the way, Minnasota is doing just fine this year, and so is Green Bay.

Logical Fallacy

Non-Sequitur
In Latin this term translates to "doesn't follow". This refers to an argument in which the conclusion does not necessarily follow from the premises. In other words, a logical connection is implied where none exists.

The is no logical connection between being denied a job as a greeter at Walmart and Bret Farve playing in the NFL. So Luanne has used a Non-Sequitur Fallacy to support her argument. This is fun give me another one.

No No I did not mean that people are denied work at Wally work, but feel like that is the only place that will hire them at their age.

The second was the 1998 season when he and the Broncos beat the Falcons and our much-hated ex-coach, Dan Reeves in Jan. 1999. John Elway only played for the Broncos (and I was there during all those years), but did the right thing by retiring permanently after the second Super Bowl win. He invested his money and is living quite comfortably.
