Be It Hot Summer Or Cold Summer

Sea Yearning


When I look back on olden days
Or dream of times to be,
I know, somehow, in every age
Men sought the surging sea.

When summer burns or winter chills,
Our thoughts drift far away,
To find a ship with shining sails
Just waiting on the bay.

When work is too much to endure
Or sadness makes us slaves,
Then we must lift our lives and find
Relief upon the waves.

Who can resist the ocean's lure.
It calls us night and day,
To cruise upon the boundless deep
Where whales and dolphins play.

We walk the decks and view the stars
And feel the light salt breeze.
The ship rides high on churning tides,
The heartbeat of the seas.

There are many tasks to do
That occupy our time,
But cruising with the ones we love
Will make our lives sublime.

Trip, I have done something similar already. I've printed one of Paul's wonderful poems on "Under the Sea" paper, and had it laminated on a wooden plaque and it hangs on the door of my cruise room.
