Just found out that my best bud Cruwysie has signed up for this one.
Would love to come along and celebrate her retirement and Wayne's 60th, but I just checked the prices and there's no way we can do this one.
However, we have sailed the Sapphire Princess and had a wonderful time on her, lovely ship. Sure wish I could do it again, and see Hawaii and meet all the CMs who are going.....a girl can dream, can't she?

Donna.. it is too bad you won't be able to join us. I think we're going to be right around 100 cruisemates on this one.
We are still hoping for a price drop .... if the cruise doesn't well to the public, but even so.. it IS a 14 day cruise, and the Hawaii return cruises are always a bit more, because it saves everyone having to buy flights to or from Hawaii.
It's like cruises out of NY heading south are generally more because they many of those passengers don't have to pay to fly into NY... so the cruise lines don't let that flight cost go to waste

Can't wait! It'll be really nice to see you and Larry again!
I'm thinking we'll probably just come in day of sailing this time, as we'll just be coming over from Arizona, where we'll be wintering. First time in a long time I haven't HAD to plan a pre-cruise night. But I'll definitely assist in organizing a get together for those are in a day early.

FYI...I just booked our hotel, thru PL, (in case anyone is interested) and got the Crowne Plaza for $76.00 + $18.51= $94.51 total...Hopefully, this is a good price! I had bid $56.00 a couple of days ago and was not accepted...Hope this helps someone...

Susan... sounds like an excellent price! Might have to rethink coming in a day ahead.
BTW.. since Rollerdonna mentioned price, thought I would check the Princess site today to see if there had been any reductions.
Our group prices are CONSIDERABLY LESS PP than from Princess... plus we have Xtra amenities.

Aloha from Hilo
Hawaii is beautiful, and our first princess cruise is great. Our slot pull group is up more than $200 and returning to the casino on the first return sea day.
We just got here and can hardly wait to "get leid " with all of you.

Cruise List
Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting, but I'm noticing lots of threads for this cruise . I'm combining a list of everyone who is going. Not all are (necessarily) part of the Get Lei'd 5 group, but are still understandably excited about our upcoming adventure!
I'll try to maintain/update/correct this list, according to your posts. It's the best way I have to maintain my excitement about the whole thing.

Back from Hawaii
We got back from Hawaii yesterday and we are off to Vegas today.
The cruise was great, but the weather on the ship was chilly and windy. You needed at least 4 blankets for MUTS and my hairdo was by God every time I went on deck. I hope our cruise is less windy. The seas were rough on the way home, but it did rock you to sleep.
The slots were TIGHT! Our slot pull was fun, but we lost our money after 4 hours of play on the dollar slot.Regardless of the loss, it was a blast. I hope we do it , too.
Brush up on your trivia...the questions were sometimes off the wall.
I'm off to the airport.....see you soon.

It would certainly be great to have you and Mrs. Henry along and to meet you.
I'll get organized soon and get the booking list and email addresses from Nancy for everyone booked, and get things more active on the planning and posting front.

Hotels
OK now we are beginning planning our get to and get from on our Saphire cruise ship.
Our tentative plans are to fly into the LAX on Feb 25th. We do not have a hotel as yet and we wish to be in one which several of our cruisemates may be staying in. We wish to be in the San Pedro area so it would not be too much effort to get tothe port terminal on the 26th. Then we have to get fromLAX down tothe Hotel. SO who is stayung at what hotel on the nite of 25th? Give us the details please.
Remmember we are a little in the handicap category. I will be takeing my scooter and Helen will be in a wheelchair. Our daughter Denise will be with us to do some pushing.
I know some of you have mentioned places you are staying but we need to refresh.

Hi Ray! We won't be on this cruise , but we've stayed in San Pedro twice before we cruised. The first time was at the Doubletree Marina. It was fine, but very expensive and kind of isolated. The second time we stayed at the Crown Plaza which we really liked! We had a room facing the port so we saw the ship's come in. When we were there they had a "cruise special" you might want to check out. They also have a reasonably priced restaurant and a bar. Crown Plaza would be our choice!

Hotels in San Pedro
Hi Ray!
Both Crowne Plaza LA Harbor and Doubletree San Pedro have fly and cruise packages with LAX pick up and transportation to and from the port. We've always stayed at Crowne Plaza and decided to try Doubletree with the Marina View this time. Either way, you'll have plenty of cruise company!

I know everyone will have a great time! Our names need to come off the list -- we cancelled this cruise, and instead will take our DS, DIL, and PGB (precious grandbaby) on a cruise in the summer). The purse strings just wouldn't quite go that far!

Hi all. I have just joined cruisemates and am booked on this cruise. I wish I would have known about this group back in January when I booked thru princess. I paid about 150.00 more and I am not getting any coupons or credits . Oh well, its Hawaii so I will not complain! Look forward to meeting some of you on board.

Hi Susan, I gave that some thought but don't want to risk losing my cabin. I would be curious how you book with cruisemates. Do you just watch for a special to be posted? I will need to book a caribbean cruise for Feb/March of 2012. (Can't wait till last minute you know, )

Cruisemates group cruise was booked thru Nancy Bogert...Her phone no. is 1-800-561-0802...Give her a call and see if she can move your reservation to the CM group cruise...You probably would be able to keep the same room you already have booked...Doesn't hurt to ask her...Susan
