I guess I have been so busy this year I missed this thread. Tonight I was sitting here making final plans for our Alaska cruise, and Jim said where after that? I told him I wanted to go to Hawaii, next.
All of you know I am a die hard Carnival fan, so that is where I searched, and was so disappointed that it is not round trip.
I was getting caught up on the Chit chat board, and happen to look up to see this thread.
Luanne... it would be GREAT if you and Jim could join us, so we can finally meet!! We've got a really good bunch of folks booked already, and no doubt more to join up.... and what could be much better than Hawaii in Feb.
Have done Hawaii each different way.. from Van. to Hawaii, from LA to Hawaii. IMHO the very best way are the return trips.
And I think Sapphire Princess will blow everyone away who hasn't sailed her yet. GREAT ship!
Thank you Kuki. I look forward to finally meeting you and your beautiful wife. I am very excited about this cruise, but as you know I have a terrible track record for group cruises. Maybe this one's the charm.
I spent most of the night researching the Princess line, and will call my old friend Nancy tomorrow.
Kuki....will you be reserving a 'block' of rooms at the Crowne Plaze or Doubletree for this cruise, or should we just book our own? Thanks in advance!!! Susan

Honestly hadn't give that much thought yet. If enough people want to be in LA for a pre-cruise night I can certainly put out some feelers for group hotel rate.
It's been awhile, so I actually forget where we stayed last time. I remember it was in San Pedro .. and not too bad at all.
Kuki, Questions Is there any way to get a full suite, and do you know the locations of the laundry rooms on the ship, so if not a suite, I can keep our laundry done, without lugging it all over the ship.

Of course, unless they are booked, you can purchase any of the full suites if that's what you want.
As far as I remember there are self laundromats on every passenger deck on Princess ships. Not that I'm a chavinist or anything... but Mrs. Kuki would remember where better than me
Is there a cutoff date in which the cruise is likely to be fully grouped for CM people ?
Henry.. that date is unpredictable. The cruise lines can ask for our TA to return any cabins in the group space that haven't been booked, at any time. It varies by how much demand their is for the cruise for other sources.
If you're considering it, the best thing to do is place a deposit and book it. Then that booking remains cancelable, with no penalties at all until final payment date.
Thanks for the reply ,Kuki . The reason I posed the question is that I am having surgery on tuesday and my anticipated recovery period is at least 3 months .I am interested in the cruise but presumably the earliest I could sign up would be July .I have to discuss this further with my wife .
Luanne..... so nice that you are booked on this cruise as I'll finally get to meet you. Sorry I didn't see you when Fern arranged a meeting with us all when you were in AR last year.
I looked at flights just to see how much it might be, and was surprised at how cheap it was. I can't book flights yet because it's to far away, but at least I have an idea.
I thought I would see about flighting into Long Beach, because I know it is closer. Only problem is, you have to flight to half the midwest airports to get there. Guess I will stick with LAX.
Well, you now have 3 more joining your group - My husband Wayne and I are booked! - along with his mother. I don't know whether my mother-in-law will change her mind before final payment date or not, but Wayne has agreed that we're going anyway ! Hurray! We'll get a chance to meet so many of you after all this time. This will be a great way to celebrate my upcoming retirement (less than 6 weeks away) and Wayne's 60th birthday just before we leave in February.
It's a good thing we have lots of time before leaving, because I've got some research to do for flights. As a starting point, it will be $1,200 each for the round trip. Here's hoping some seat sales come up Any suggestions for hotels would be appreciated.
Oh, wow!!! More and more signing up...This is getting exciting!!! Welcome aboard Ray and Helen (it will be an honor to meet you) and Cruwysie. Have a great day everyone.
