Default Film 'Final Voyage'

Hi all!

Yesterday I watched the film Final Voyage on channel Movies4Men. The film features the cruise ship Maxim Gorkiy. The ship was highjacked by terrorists, it sunk in the end and all of the terrorists dead by then went down with the ship. Most passengers made it to the life boats except for those who lost their lifes in the hands of those crazy men.

This film is pure fiction and a pretty bad movie at that. The Maxim Gorky was the former Hanseatic and was never hijacked although it almost sunk in the North Sea, in 1989, after hitting an ice flow. It also hosted a summit between George H.W. Bush and Gorbachev.

The end of the Maxim Gorky was not so "glamorous". She ended up being scrapped, at The Breakers in India, earlier this year.

Take care,
Mike (That Ice-T: What an actor. )

I did some searches, she is said to be the first German built cruise ship after the 2nd world war and she was still cruising last year 2008. I have seen her many times and have taken photos of her. She was a unique site. She reminds me of the other ship TS Albatros 1, also scrapped. That's the faith of most cruise ships.
