Default Kindle, Easy Reader?

I am thinking about getting a Kindle...does anyone have one...pros, cons?
I have both versions of the RCA EBook, and content was alaways an issue, but the Kindle has Amazon, so it's much easier, and a better selection. What's the big difference between 1 & 2 and is the diff worth the $$...Any help?

I have also thought about getting one. I am looking with you to see what others say.

Many ppl from our group for our November TA on another cruise board bought one thru Amazon.com One just paid $259 for it. I know it can hold 1500 books and is nice and thin but it can cost $10 to download a book. You can change the fonts to 4 or 5 sizes too. I still like my paperbacks that I can get for $3-6 each and recycle them.

I just went to Amazon, and watched a video about the Kindle, so I am happy with all I saw..since I had the early RCA version, I am familiar with some of the aspects already, so I am ready to buy it. I went to Ebay, and, bid on one, the & aucton is over soon, so I will let you know

I looked at these a few years ago when they were very expensive... now they are marketing a newer slimmer, cheaper, version. Which is better. I can understand the ease and convenience when traveling, but personally, there is something to be said about holding a book in your hands. I would get tired of staring at a screen because I feel like I already do too much of that in my days. I like being able to hold the book in my hands and turn the pages. It's just one of those old past times that I wish they wouldn't modernize.

Peni, I agree with you...there is something about having a book in your hand..the cover, the act of going to the library to peruse the aisles...for me nothing will change, just the ability to enjoy a book another way..i am a lifelong library patron, a book club geek, and I listen to books on tape, and will continue to do all of the above.....I'm itching to see it
