Default Beaches in St. Thomas...which one?

The tour we are going on while we are there will take us to either Sapphire, Coki or Megens Bay beach.

I have been to Megen's bay so what I am asking...do you like Sapphire or Coki beach?
Some want to "snubba" with that helmet thing. I did see it at Coki Beach at the Coral Place. Is that also on Sapphire Beach?

One more thing...It says local time while on St. Thomas...is that their time or the ships time? The ship is the same as Pittsburgh, so I don't want to be late for anything while on this island.

Thanks
Darlene

OK.....sorry
I just found out that it isn't "snuba" diving.

It's the "helmet diving, that one of our people in the group are looking to do while on St. Thomas, Half Moon Cay or Grand Turk.

Thanks for all information
Darlene

They do not have helmet diving at Sapphire beach. You can rent a floating beachmat there. If is a very pretty beach area. Haven't been to Coki, so can't comment on that one.

Hi, I love Coki beach. They do have Snuba at Coral World which is attached to Coki beach. I actually prefer Coki over Megan's beach.

Dina:
Thank you so much for the reply.
I read a review somewhere? That Coki beach is closed sometimes because of "run off" I don't know if that is true or not?

We like either Coki or Sapphire Beach.

This really helps with decisions

If you buy entry into Coral World to snuba, its an all day pass. I got a locker and locked up my stuff(locker fee refundable when you turn in your key). I really liked that I could enjoy Coki beach then go back into Coral World and shower off the sea water before changing my clothes to something dry.

You might want to take some bread if you go to Coki. When you walk into the water, the brilliant colored fish swim all around your legs and you can attract even more by offering up so tidbits.

I've never heard of the run off. I'll have to look that up.

We have been to all three and enjoyed all three. Coki had a little more to do but was busy. Saphire was beautiful, peaceful, just lovely. Megans was also vibrant and fun. Which ever you will enjoy I am sure.

Sunny Liston????!!!! He is the BEST! He is a font of trivial knowledge, especially sports (baseball), very funny and a sweet man.

I first found him by accident in about 1995 and our van had to stop so he could get out and move a huge iguana from the road. He did a whole comedy routine, kind of like the crocodile hunter guy, moving the iguana and our sides hurt from laughing.

I have never run into him again in several trips to St. Thomas but he sure made an impression on me. You will be in safe hands with him. Oh, either Coki or Sapphire beaches are wonderful - don't waste the time and cabfare to Magen's Bay.
