Requiring you to match your receipts to your baggage tags under scrutiny of a security person prior to leaving the terminal probably should never have been halted.

Then again, that's only one of the reasons I don't fly anymore.

Yes I saw that yesterday--right after I was looking into flights from the Snoozman cruise to PHX-- were our daughter lives------wanting to extend that trip------
I know I read something similar about a Texas airport awhile ago too
Sort of think that this is just the tip of the iceburge-so to speak---

makes me want to make my luggage really stand out--lots of black bags
were shown

There was a similar type of story here in Minneapolis. A group of people were stealing luggage from MSP. I don't think it was even close to what this couple did.

I have always thought how easy it would be to grab a bag and walk off. Especially the ones that hadn't been picked off the carousel and are stacked along the wall waiting for someone to pick them up before going to the lost luggage area.

There have been a number of times where I have taken a later flight due to bumping or voluntarily giving up my seat that I had to find my luggage "along the wall". I just walked over, found it and walked out.

It just shows that you NEVER put anything of value in your checked luggage. You can always buy new clothes but jewelry and personal items are far worse and insurance won't cover their true value.

Excellent advice, Mike! I'm sure you've just enlightened a lot of folks who never gave such a possibility a thought and who routinely pack good jewelry or other items of intrinsic value.
