Sure looks Russian so probably from your Russian River cruise. So I would guess either the Don or Volga rivers. Since it doesn't look to be too crowded, I would say it might be Rostov on Don.

Ray, I believe you are mistaken as to the location. (Unless there are two churches that look EXACTLY alike).
This church is where I said it was.... Samara, Russia.
AS well, this church (cathedral) is facing AWAY from the river, so could not possibly be photographed from the ship.

You know Ray I have been on maybe a tiny fraction on the number of cruises you and Helen have been on, and for the life of me I don't know how you keep it all straight. I've been going through the pictures we took over the past couple of weeks, and I have already forgotten which ports some of them were taken in .
If you get the continent right, that's close enough for me
Capt--you could be right on the location, however, in my listings as I traveled along the Volga river we did stop in Ulanovsk, Russia. And we did stop in Samara and I did take several pictures there. I hope I have not gotten my captions mixed up. So we let it be. It is in Russia and we were not on board the ship when the picture was taken.
I hardly ever know the places you post. I do enjoy the pictures. I can only dream of seeing the places that you and Helen have seen. Keep them coming, I alway enjoy seeing them.

you can even see the cement columns behind you in your second photo in the google earth image.
I can pinpoint exactly where you were standing when the photo was taken.
