Thumbs up Thanks Donna!! We have Spell Check

Until Donna pointed it out to me I didn't know we had the OFTEN REQUESTED Spell check.

Just click the

in the upper right hand corner of the Reply or Post box and you will have your post spell checked.

Take care,
Mike

For those of us who are now using Firefox, it should already be performing spell check on your posts automatically...

I love firefox!

Beenie:

I never make speling error so I don't need spel chek or Firfox.

It is actually IE Spell that was incorporated into this version of vBulletin. I've been using IE Spell for years and love it.

Take care,
Mike

You mean folks, that the "a" will be removed from the word "definately" and replaced with an "i" as in "definitely?" Naw.... Never happen. What we need Tennille is an English major to keep our grammar and syntax and all of that other good stuff on the straight and narrow. Whenever as a youngster I was upset with my mother, I'd come up with something along the lines of, " You know mother, I'm gonna' learn that boy how to do that and then we're going to the Movie The-A-ter and watch a picture show." That sentence was always good for sending her screaming right up the wall.

You could tell my mother really cared about a person if she corrected their English. Never mind this original Miss Manners herself was engaging in absolutely reprehensible and embarrassing behavior; it was a real sign of love and respect for the person being corrected. If she didn't love or admire you, she'd let it pass. I wish to hell she didn't love and admire me as much as she did. Why, I assure you'd she'd correct me if I were talking to the President of the United States. Were that type of meeting to have ever occured, I'm sure whatever President involved would have been relieved to know she never held too many of them in high regard elst she'd undoubtedly done the same to them! Believe it or not, with that glaring exception she was very big on protocol. But then, no matter who we are, we all have our quirks. Mine is butchering the King's English, if probably for no other reason than rebelling from \having the correct method crammed down my throat.

I think you meant IE (Internet Explorer).

The spell check program is IE Spell. It was developed for use with Internet Explorer so that is probably the reason it does not work with other browsers.

Take care,
Mike

Red face

Ok, I don't know what I am doing wrong - but am not surprised that I am doing something wrong.

When I check on the spell check icon, it tells me I must download a program. Which I did - going thru all the steps.

So, then, I give it another try. It again tells me I must download the same program I have just downloaded.

Sooooooo, any ideas as to my failure to succeed in the spell checking arena?

Jen:

First: You need to be running Internet Explorer for it to work. It doesn't work on Mac or Firefox.

If you are using Internet Explorer:
  • Click Tools
  • Click Manage Add-ons
  • Scroll down the list that pops up until you find IESpell and IESpell Option
  • Verify that each are "Enabled"
  • If they are not enabled click IESpell and then click Enable. Do the same for Option
  • If they are Enabled then I can't help you.
Take care,
Mike
