Smile Christmas Presents for Crew

Hi all and Merry Christmas,

My wife and I are doing a Christmas cruise shortly and would like to give Christmas presents. So, what would a crew member like/need on board.

Your help is much appreciated.

Doggie

Money, plain and simple. They live in extremely cramped quarters and have little room for "gifts".

You might try international calling-cards, so that they can call home.

MONEY! Good old hard cash in a nice Christmas card would be perfect. There is little room in their quarters for "stuff" and money is the thing that would be best for them.

Calling cards are ok but, if you do give them, make sure they are a major carrier such as AT&T and you give them the access numbers for different parts of the world. I have spoke with a few crew members who have thrown away many calling cards because they were basically worthless to them because they couldn't use them for various reasons.

Take care,
Mike

The question of giving gifts or presents to the crew has popped up many times over the years and the overwhelming answer is---MONEY.
Treat the crew with all the respect they deserve, give them a " thank you " with some extra cash--many do not celebrate Christmas as we do and may
not appreciate a Christmas card as most of us would but some extra dollars with a smile and a thank you goes a long way. ;-)

Agreed, money is the best choice. I would also add that a special note written while you are on the cruise to their supervisor telling them how that crew member made your cruise special would be a nice added touch. Enjoy your holiday cruise!

Mike correct, I would recommend a candy cane with some green attached. Merry Christmas, Mike
