Has anyone here ever made the chocolate melting cake served on Carnival? Our maitre-d “George the greek” passed it out on the last night we sailed and I was just wondered if anyone has made it at home.

I had it almost every day when on the Miracle. Served at dinner, plus it was on the buffet line. Must of been popular. I have the Carnival Creations cookbook, not sure if its in there. had the book for about 7 yrs.

Taken to many cruises to list here..Over 17 and counting. Finally reached Platinum with Carnival.
I've never cruised Carnival b/4 so I've not had the Melting cake,,,soooooo
We are now booked on Carnival Freedom for next month,,,so I'll def have to try it,,,goodness knows I've been told how delish it is from everyone.
We too have the recipe somewhere around here, but the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) has never made it for me. I think our recipe is the one straight out of the Carnival kitchen, and is for something like 140 servings. HMMM,,just found it:
Melt the chocolate & butter. Mix the egg yolks, sugar and whisk for a few minutes, add flour. Add eggs, and mix to the melted chocolate mix. Beat the egg whites, and fold in the egg whites to the chocolate mix. Pour the mix in a greased mould. Bake directly in the oven, at 200 C for 14 minutes....
Good luck, and hope you and 139 friends enjoy the chocolate melting cake!
