Default Where is everyone from ?

I realize that a lot of people have their home state or country in their profiles but I thought it may be an interesting topic for a thread . I am a lifelong resident of New York .

When new people ask me that question, I still automatically respond "Montreal", but after 4 months of living in Nova Scotia, I should be getting used to changing that reply!
I am a life-long Montrealer who recently pulled up stakes with my husband to retire in Nova Scotia Canada. He's retired, not me, but I've been enjoying a few months of unemployment, which comes to an end next week....

I grew up in Illinois, lived for several years in Arizona, a short stint in Wisconsin and have now lived in Indiana for about 10 years. D/H is a Canadian. I couldn't find any decent guys locally, so I imported him.

Well I have lived a lot more years in Fla than I did in NY. I grew up just outside of Albany, NY but finished high school in Fl. After getting married hubby and I move to Pascagoulla, MS for a few years then back to Fl and been here since 1980. Would love to move over to the West Coast of Fl, to be close to daughter and her family, but if so that will be years down the road.

I am about 3 hours directly north of Evansville. However my next door neighbor's son in law just landed a job as one of their newest District Attorneys and they will be moving there from Boston shortly.

As for Wisconsin, I lived in Racine I lived about a block from the lake, and there was a park. It was beautiful in the summer and fall, but brutal in the winter. I worked for a production signage company in Sturtevant and worked tradeshows in Chicago for them.

DH and I were both born and raised in Houston, TX. We were destined to be together, since we were delivered by the same doctor, in the same hospital! Destiny, I tell you!

We currently live about 25 miles south of Houston, in a small town. We have been here 35 years and don't miss the big city, at all!

Sure does make sailing from Galveston easy!

April checking in from San Jose CA-- not really by choice --- hahah

born in San Francisco --lived in Watsonville for a few years and then to San Jose---my parents couldnt afford to move back to Daly City----where I spent much of my youth--------so thats why not by choice ---

Not that I'm complaining that is---the only thing keeping us here --right now is my mom---

sort of looking at AZ----no not to near Kuki but our daughter and our 1st grandchild------and no not too close to them either-----

My husband has always wanted to be sort of out in the country----so who knows where we might end up-------

Cheers
April

Arlene and I currently live in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to that we had a few months in Huntsville, AL and before that a couple of years in Tokyo, Japan. Previous to that, we had seven years in Winter Springs, FL, one year in Montgomery, AL, and nine years in Colorado Springs, CO.

As we don't own a house or cars, and have no kids or pets, we are truly gypsies.

Absolutely! Kemah is one of our favorite "hang-outs" when the weather is nice. Lots of entertainment options: good food/drinks, children play area, watching the boats come and go; birds; live music; etc. Do you come to this area, often?

carribbeantina271, we were on the Oct 4 cruise with you. We had early dinner in Upper Washington with Winston as our waiter and Opec as
assistant. Our cabin was 2201, an inside that was actually an outside but no porthole. Had a great time on that cruise.

I grew up in south central Ohio, a little town called Piketon. Hubby grew up just north of Dayton, which is where we met in college. He enlisted in the Navy, and after we were married we were stationed in VA. Have been there ever since - 19 years in May.

My wife Betty and I live west of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was born and raised in Minnesota but have lived in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL.

My wife was born in Germany, raised in Brasil and lived in the Bay Area of California before coming to Minnesota and meeting me.

Take care,
Mike

Look at all the Bay Area people coming out of the woodwork. It's like old home week.

I grew up in the Bay Area, but moved to the Sacramento area about 3 or 4 years ago. Me and my orchids miss the bay area weather. We get into the 110 in summer and go down to the 20s in winter. So cold, of course no one feels sorry for me. But the 20s is to cold for my outdoor orchids. I have to cover at night and I lost my pepper & tomato plants due to frost. It was so sad no fresh peppers in December.

I do like Saco, however, to my fellow Sacramento people it's called a gas pedal it's okay to use it when going on the freeway. I'm still use to Bay Area speeders; I mean drivers.
