HI Kids, I was asleep, then I wasn't, then I was, and, Now I am here, so, I decided to be the first to wish everyone, a happy 2010!!
The Chinese food was very good, although Bruce & Chris fought hard just to get in the parking lot..if someone robbed the place, they would be millionaires tonight!I then watched the kids, while the kids went out for a bit, and slept theough the midnight gong...oh to be young again!
I was thrilled to read that Fran has taken a baby step to wellness, Each step is one more on the road to being back home, and I hope it'soon..
Cheers to all....have a great day...xoxox

Good Morning Trip and all to follow. I want to wish each and every one of you a happy new year. Trip, I too was glad to hear of Fran's tiny step in the right direction. Small steps lead to recovery, slow but sure.

It is a new year, and my world is fresh and clean with a white blanket of snow. It is a good visual way to begin a New Year.
Today I will continue to dismantle Christmas, make a New England Boiled Dinner for my son - he loves corned beef and he won't be home for St. Patty's day, so today we will eat as if it were.
His girlfriend arrives on Monday - so much housework must be done - ugh!!! I am almost a month behind in Church paperwork also, so no rest in sight. I hope that I have a day or two this month to just do nothing or think about things I have to do - I need a mental break, urgently.
No resolutions here - I have taken inventory and do have some things I would like to work on in my life, in my home, in my relationships, and in my walk with the Lord.
May you all have a calm day - filled with simple pleasures.
I too am rejoicing at Todds latest report.
Morning Mates, hope you all had a safe and Happy New Years Eve.
Ours was very quiet, but we did open that bottle of champagne we brought with us from Montreal to celebrate our new home; new home, new province, new life, new year, new decade - good reason to celebrate don't you think?
Like Jen, we have a fresh blanket of white over everything, and apparently are expecting 20 - 30 cms more over the course of the weekend. Should be interesting.....I tried to post some photos in the Personal Gallery but so far no luck, it's being stubborn again...
Today we are going out for a New Years Brunch at a local resort. We were researching a place to stay for guests coming next summer and noticed they had a brunch today so that's where we're headed. Should be nice, as long as we get there and back before the storm hits!
Have a good day all, and special prayers for Todd and Fran to make giant leaps toward good health in the new year!
The years roll by so quickly! We brought the year in quietly. Our son, DIL, and grandaughter came over for dinner. When my son saw the salad, steaks, mushrooms, asparagus, potatoes augratin, and cheesecake, he said it looked like a giant sleeping pill! It worked! He worked yesterday, so he faded around 10:00, and they went home. I would rather him be home at midnight, instead of driving home when half alseep!
Not much on my agenda for today. Maybe a trip into Houston, to the Galleria Mall.
My prayers continue for Todd and Fran. There are others on here, who are hurting, or need a healing touch. You're in my thoughts as well.
Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning cruisemates! Sun is breaking through the clouds, towards an expectd high of 70 in Scottsdale.
Playing golf today with a friend who plays on the Canadian Ladies golf tour, so ya know she is gong to kick my bum. She's a sweetheart of a gal though, so I look forward to it.
One of my nephews got given seats for a private box at the Cardinals/Green Bay football game Sunday.. and remembered my name (or couldn't find anyone else to go). So I have a busy weekend coming up too.
Good morning Cruisemates from a sunny, but cool Texas.
We also had a very quiet night at home. We stayed up late playing Wii with our son.
At midnight I received a Text from one of Joe's friends, wishing him a Happy New Year. I called his friend back to wish him well, and the Text appeared again. I deleted it, and by this morning, it had come back again 3 more times. His friend has no idea why it would appear so many times. Probably some sort of defect, but when it woke me up again early this morning, I said, Joe, if this is from you, stop it, I need my rest, and it never happened again.
I dreamed about Joe, and he said for me not to cry for him anymore. He said it was time for me to shine again. So I guess that is what I will try to do for the new year.
I am late getting online today but want to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my mates. Hope that 2010 is a great year for all.
We had a nice square dance to bring in the new year. The crowd was a good one and oh the food!!! They had a spread to end all. Of course I ate way more than I should have but what the heck I can cut back starting today. The weather was an iffy forecast with sleet due to arrive around midnight. We were lucky and it didn't make it. We had an hour 1/2 drive home in dry weather which made me happy. Today we have snow flurries with a possible accumulation of around an inch. Due to be like this for the entire next week, off and on snow. D/H had to work this morning and he was so nice to not wake me. I was a lazy bum and slept in until almost 9am which is rare for me.
Today I am hoping to get started on getting my cruise clothing sorted out. I know I have a couple of things that need buttons fixed, and a hem or too that needs to be repaired so it may get done today. We are now down to 20 days until we leave for Florida and our cruise. I am so ready for a warm climate!
Prayers continue for all our mates especially Todd & Fran. Hope all is getting better with them.
Good morning, cruisemates...I'm not very active on this site, but my New Year's resolution is to be more active, as we will be cruising with some of you to Hawaii....(can't wait)....
It was very chilly this morning at 31 degrees in SW Arkansas...The sun is shining, after two cloudy days...Nice to see it again.
It is a cold, crisp day here in Minnesota. It was an in-home New Year's eve and Kramer decided to sleep rather than give me a kiss. Oh well: Betty got home at 12:30 a.m. and made gave me one. She is so sore from her fall. Even though she has a black bruise, size of an iron, on her hip, it is her shoulder and arm that hurts the worse. She is one sore girl. The smell of Ben-Gay and Arnica cream are her new perfumes.
Today will be a New Year's Day dinner with the kids and grandkids. The grandkids will spend the weekend with grandma and grandpa. We have no formal plans set so we'll play it by ear.
I hope everyone has a great New Years Day and wonderful 2010!
Take care,
Mike

Happy New Year cruisemates. Looks like a rainy day here in the panhandle of Florida. No snow for us. I kept my grandkids last night so my daughter and her husband could go out. We all stayed up past midnight playing on our Wii. The kids enjoyed that and I got beat really bad in bowling.
The kids slept until after 10:30 this morning, not me, I was up at 8:30. I start taking down the Christmas decorations tody, at least inside the house.
Everyone enjoy the day and have a Happy New Year.

A late Happy New Year on this fine sunny morning! We stayed up late watching old Thin Man movies with Dick Powell and Myrna Loy. And yes, we watched the Rose Parade! The most recent president of the Tournament of Roses Association died suddenly in '09 and never got to see his parade. F-18 fighter jets did a Missing Man formation over the parade route in his honor.
Keith is preparing huevos Rancheros. Yum!
We should take down Christmas decorations, too, but neither of us feels motivated to do that.
Hopes and prayers go out to Todd and Fran. I hope also that everyone starts off the new year with a nice day.
Happy New Year my fellow cruisemates,
2010 is off to a good start. I invited my mom and aunt over for a quiet New Year ’s dinner and what a lovely evening we had. Normally when my aunt is over it’s because were having a family party and we don’t get the chance to converse too much due to the large amount of people, but tonight it was just my hubby, son, mom, aunt and myself and we had such a nice time. Makes me think I need to start have smaller groups of family over throughout the year so we can enjoy our one another’s company. Hope everyone’s New Year is off to a great start.
