Yesterday felt like Saturday, today is Saturday, and tomorrow will feel like another Saturday - so much time off and everything closed is weird!
We are supposed to be hit with a big storm this weekend, weather warnings are out and food stocks up, but so far, just melting snow and a bit of rain.
I'm sure it's coming though....
Yesterday's brunch at the lodge was very nice. Great food, live entertainment (guitarist) and a wonderful view out over the sea, although it was a gray, cold Atlantic rather than a warm blue Caribbean, but I'll settle for what I can get for the moment!
Todd, glad to hear there's been some improvement for both of you, keep up the good work!
Good Morning CruiseMates from my MIL's kitchen table in beautiful Sarnia Ontario Canada. We've had a nice visit so far. Today I have a little running around to do. I want to pick up a couple of wine kitz. We enjoy making our own wine and our stock is running low. Right now all we have left is some ice wine and that's not something I can really drink on a regular basis. I also want to investigate this stuff you can use to give your countertops a facelift. So I will go check it out. and maybe come home with a truckload of stuff .
MIL looks well. When I come we spend time looking at her lab reports, and it would appear the cancer is still in remission. It must certainly be hard to live with that sleeping bear, but what is the alternative? Maybe they will find something in the meanwhile to cure it, but for now we'll take the remissions as long as we can get them.
The kids have had a fantastic time with Oma and Opa. They've had a ball. Yesterday we had our Christmas with them, and as usual the kids made out like bandits and spent the day playing. Last night Oma made a wonderful dinner of prime rib and it was so good, we all had to roll away from the table afterward.
Funny thing about New Years Eve, we all forced ourselves to stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop. While we did enjoy each other's company and I am glad we did it... the programming was awful on TV. I actually would have enjoyed Anderson Cooper alone, I am not sure exactly what they thought Kathy Griffin brought to the festivities, ick! We watched the other program with Ryan Seacrest and it all just left us kind of flat. Although I guess it was an appropriate send off for what many thought was a very crappy year.
Well we head back to Indiana tomorrow. I am praying it warms up before we get home. It is actually colder at home than it is up here in Canada. I am missing Sami and I am sure she is missing us. She's so darn cute.
I hope you all have a great day #2 of 2010. Doesn't seem possible that a decade has past since I fell asleep on the couch New Years Eve with a big pregnant belly as we expected our first born son. My how quickly time passes.
Good Morning Mates,
The snow is falling, and it is adding up - they say as much as 19 inches by tomorrow - ugh. That is a lot of shoveling.
Great for our winter economy tho'!
I need help - how does one add a Countdown Clock. My dh and I decided that we would join the Cruise with our friends from New Brunswick. While it wouldn't have been my Ship or Intinerary of Choice - it seemed the right thing to do - lol.
We will be flying to San Juan on the 27 -Sail out on the 28th. on March 1 we will be in ST. Thomas, the 2nd Dominica, the 3rd Barbados, the 4th St. Lucia, the 5th St. Kitts, the 6th St Maarten. Dock on the 7th - fly home on the 8th.
Today I will work on planning some excursions with our group of travelers. We will be a group of 43 I think - I know only about half of them, but the half I do know are truly people I love with my whole heart, and consider them my family, so that alone will make it wonderful!
I bought insurance! One just never knows - especially when I seem to have so much going on with me lately.
I was overjoyed to read Todd's post. I trust that good things will continue.
I just can't seem to wake up this morning - I hate that feeling. I would love to know what normal feels like, it has been so long. Oh, well shouldn't dwell on things that might not ever be.
Lots to do today - have to work on getting dd room ready for ds girlfriends arrival - since daughter has been gone since May - room, well has been handy - too handy to just sort of use as a catchall. UGH!!!!
Also the whole house could use a good dust, bathrooms some sprucing up, and the floors mopped.
Good morning from the great state of Texas, where it is cool, but sunny.
I slept in this morning, and it was so nice. I have found that I do not do well at staying up half the night. It takes several days to get over it.
I agree about the intertainment for New Years. It sure isn't like it use to be with Dick Clark, and Johnny Carson. We ended up watching Fox for the ball drop.
Speaking of Fox. They are in talks with our Time Warner Cable about service in our area. It seems Fox would now like to charge one dollar a month per customer for 9 channels. It has always been free, and TW is balking. Their service was suppose to be cut off on New Years, but a delay was agreed on. I would miss my news but did not realize the shows I also watch on Fox, including football, and Nascar. I do hope they work out something. The sports bars are hoping they don't work it out. It would mean more people to watch from their businesses.
Good morning from Southern California. Ma Nature has promised us a magnificent day. Since that means 75 in Pasadena, Keith and I will head there for lunch and then hop on a shuttle at the Rose Bowl to go view the floats. Should be a fun afternoon.
Such good news about Todd and Fran. May it continue!
Finally got a break from the grandkids. I was up early to let the dog out and Kramer only went to the middle of the driveway and did his business. Gee: It was only -20F outside. I guess I would also have gone in the middle of the driveway.
We just finished a game of Pictionary with my granddaughter, son and Betty. It was fun when the grandkid is old enough to play games like that. I have to admit that after many years I'm burnt out on Candyland.
The rest of the day will just be some games and staying warm. We'll make a fire this evening and watch a movie. Overall, a nice day.
I hope everyone has a great day.
