How much do you spend on Valentine’s Day?

I am curious about how much everyone spends on their significant others on V-Day, so I created a poll so we can see if most people are spending more on V-Day than Christmas or if they are not buying gifts at all…

WE don't tend to spend that much. Usually a little bit of candy and card, and sometimes flowers.

Most of the time, wedon't go out, because we live in a small town, and the resturants are packed.

What ever a good lobster tail cost! We just go for dinner nothing else.

Valentine's day comes two weeks after Dirk's birthday and one day after mine! I like to prepare an extra special dinner for us and then a week or so later we take a short vacation. By February, we need a winter break.
As for flowers, I'm too cheap to pay holiday prices. Last year, on the day after Vday, we bought two dozen beautiful roses for ten dollars....90% off the price on Vday! For a savings of $90, I'll wait! (Savings go into cruise fun fund!)

We just do the dinner out thing but it is usually on the weekend as we work hard and would rather go out when we are not so tired.

Year before last it was a minor trinket with a card.
Last year it was a cruise with the Carnival roses. (the cruise worked better)
This year with the 19 degree temps the Southern Caribbean is looking very good for Valentines Day.

It really depends on what Mrs. Kuki wants to buy me. So far in our marriage every year it's NOTHING.

I don't understand. Is Valentine's Day the only acceptable politcally correct time to be gender specific?

In Japan, the women give men chocolate and gifts on Valentine's Day; a wonderful tradition.

Now that we are in Europe, it is costing me a fortune as we are going to Switzerland and Austria for the week with Valentine's Day in Vienna.

There are two days we never celebrate on the day.. Valentines Day and Mothers Day.. There are specially priced menus and mobs of people.. What Parrot Pop and I do is go out the night before. Parrot Pop is romantic and does send me a beautiful bouquet of flowers though for Valentines Day (a well known 0nline remind him of all our occasions..lol)..it is also the day we became engaged...55 years ago this year. What do I buy him...he doesn't need anything.. he has me......

Valentines Day is also our wedding anniversary. I joke and say we picked that date because they start advertising it right after Christmas so the hubby will have plenty of reminders! We usually go for a nice dinner somewhere This year we are celebrating a few weeks early (Jan. 24 -31) with a cruise on the Carnival Legend. So I guess this year we spent a little more. This will be the 4th cruise we have done either just before or actually on Valentines Day. This year will be our 40th so we decided to go for it and I am so looking forward to getting out of this cold & snow.

Thanks for reminding me that V Day is coming up! We don't exchange gifts for anything anymore (we just cruise!), but we do give each other a card .

We don't argue much anymore-usually one of us gives up before things get too bad! I always think, "Is this really worth arguing about??" Unless it's "life and death", I say NO to myself and we go on...
