Woke up to a big snow today. It was snowing when I went to bed last night so I expected it. Schools have been closed so I will have at least one grandaughter spending the day with me. Guess my plans will change for today. Had planned on a trip to the grocery and Wally world but the roads to get there are not the best so I'll wait until tomorrow.
So happy that Fran is now home. Todd is now officially a nurse! Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and warm. Prayers continue for those in need.
It's a white one here too Sue, snowed again last night, but that only replaced what was melted in yesterday's mild temperatures. We seem to get a lot of snow, but it melts or is rained away just as quickly!
Yesterday I went to my meeting for the new job. I now have a better idea of what I will be doing, and have a ton of "homework" to do to put together a program of physical activities to begin in 3 schools on Jan. 18. I will also be involved in the town's Winter Carnival in Feb. as well as a full week of March Break activities in March, so it looks like I will be busy!
I don't mind a bit because I am going stir crazy being at home with nothing to do besides housework!
Speaking of housework, I finally managed to undecorate and dismantle the Christmas tree last night, now I just have to wrap and store everything away. I hate that "bare" look when it's all gone....
Continued best wishes for Todd and Fran. Glad to hear Fran is home, and I hope "Nurse" Todd is doing OK as well!
Good Morning CruiseMates!!
I too, am so thrilled by Todd & Fran's news. I hope they both got some much needed and well deserved rest last night.
Well I am still looking at a Christmas tree sitting here. I need to start tearing it down, but just haven't quite got around to it. Today I plan to start sanding down my countertops and getting that project started.
Waiting for the Doctor's office to call me back so we can schedule d/s's surgery for later this month. Not looking forward to it, but it has to be done. I was able to order a knee roller that was on sale for him, so it will be a nice lightweight mode of transportation while he is recouping. The darned thing are nearly $1000 (there's probably $50 of material in them) and I found a medical supplier who just had a big sale on Amazon, and picked it up for $200. The one I built for him is fine except it is hard to get into d/h's car and is a little bulky in tight spaces, like some store aisles. We'll try this and see how it goes.
Well that is our exciting life here (not so much).
Hi Kids,
A yucky day here, no sun;( I feel yucky too...I felt myself getting sick last night, and today I have Lucy to babysit I hope she naps all day, because that's what I need to do....
Everyone have a good day, make it good, I wil try...!

Good morning from a white Texas. It's not snow, but frost. We are also cold, but not as cold as it will be later on this week.
We went out last night with some old friends of ours. Their son is home for the holidays from Germany, where he is a fighter pilot. It was wonderful to see them, and to get caught up.
Josh has decided to take a few months off from school, and work part time. He will enter Texas A&M in the fall.
Today I have an appointment with my new therapist. He and I actually served on a school board several years ago, so it won't be all new. I keep running these people off. The first one went to work on Ft Hood. His boss became the Ft Hood shooter. The last one is opening up her own practice in another town. The worst part of getting someone new is the paperwork I have to fill out again. The hardest question is "How many children do you have, and where are they living now?" For Josh that is easy, because he is still living at home, but for Joe, I mark out all the usual answers and put Heaven.
I hope all of you have a good day. Prayers are still there for Todd and Fran, and blessing for all the rest of you.
It is another sub-zero day here in America's Ice Box. -14F is the current temperature. We've barely made it above zero for the last week but we're expecting a major heat wave tomorrow. It should be a balmy +11F.
I guess I shouldn't have made Betty carry those salt sacks. Since she fell on the ice her neck and arm have been hurting her. The giant bruise on her tush and hip really don't hurt but the neck and arm pain were driving her nuts. I made her go to the doctor yesterday and it looks like there is nothing broken but she probably has a pinched nerve. They gave her a dose pack of methyl prednisone and pain killers. Now I must deal with her "roid rage". She is a bit hyper but has "a little" less pain. Hopefully, the abatement will continue.
Nothing major on the agenda for today. I will need to clean up the driveway. It has been so cold that Kramer won't venture too far away from the house and can't handle the deeper snow so he just does his business in the nice clean driveway. There are a number of "presents" for me to pick up. I'll have to walk the whole 200 ft. driveway because he has dropped his presents at various locations along the drive.
I hope everyone is staying warm and I wish everyone a great Monday and wonderful week.
Take care,
Mike

Good Morning cruisemates! Where I am normally the one complaining about bitter cold and snow. I am at the moment still sitting in America's G spot... going golfing and temps in the mid 70s
Mike.. nice of Kramer to organize a treasure hunt to keep you entertained.
Good morning from Southern California. No complaints about snow and cold here. It'll be in the upper 70's today.
Keith and I are in the throes of switching meds over to a new insurance company. What a mess! I had to order a couple of things locally so I'd have enough meds for the cruise. The doctor wrote a perscription for new test strips (I am diabetic), and they sold me the wrong ones. Good thing I checked. I'm thinking I probably need a new meter.
I,too, was so happy to hear that Fran is home.
Mike, you have to train Kramer to clean up his own messes!
