I am watching the dawn of another day over the hill. It is 0C with snowflakes floating around, even though there is no snow in the forecast. We might actually see a bit of the sun today, the gray is sure getting old.....
Yesterday we went for a long drive and met our real estate agent and his wife for lunch - they have become good friends after our 2 yr search for the perfect home! It was great fun to see them, and they are very interested in trying cruising, so it was interesting conversation!
Today, it's Aquafitness and probably the gym later on.
Aerogirl, in case you missed my late post yesterday, the Aquafitness class is great fun and great exercise - give it a try!
Well, that's what it is here in upper East Tennessee. While certainly not anywhere near as low as the temps are in other parts of the country, our current 16 degrees at 7:06 AM EST while not unheard of is still rather unusual around these parts.
Am so glad to be back and returning to at least some level of normalcy. I've so missed your daily posts. I quickly reviewed yesterday's offering and noticed Beenie Weenie that you were awaiting a call from your son's surgeon. I pray everything is alright.
Also if anyone wishes to fill me in on what's been going on, please do so. I still really have little time to spend at the computer. Despite the fact that Fran is still extremely weak, is still coughing as well as running a low grade temp, we are nevertheless hopeful her recovery is progressing albeit far more slowy than we anticipated. When Leukemia/Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma patients become ill with something like full blown pneumonia...you can well imagine the terror. Now we're hoping it didn't cause her to come out of remission if indeed, such a thing is possible.
It's good to be back to my favorite forum on which I can practice my ridiculous verbosity.
Prayers of course unceasingly continue for those suffering illness or any travail accompanied of course with a request for Blessings on all `o you'uns.
How wonderful to wake up, come on-line and see a morning post from ToddDH - now I feel some sort of inner relief. I will continue to pray for your dear couple, but I do feel a little bit more light shining thru the clouds.
We are warmer than most - in the twenties - teens to below zero over the weekend. Mostly just normal Vermont weather - snow every day, no sun...
Today up and out early, again...have to bring the dog to be groomed, then to church to hopefully be extremely productive. Then back to get the dog, home to hopefully get some things done too.
I continue with the exhaustion, and after a call to my docs. have to do some changes to my meds due to the poor reaction to the cymbalta, I have to increase my neuronton - which I am not excited aobut either, for that makes me extremely exhausted, and drugged for about a month or so as it takes three weeks to increase, and a week or two after to feel more normal, tho' that drug fog seems to linger for ever. I will try this, then if no success, I am going to just slowy wean myself off these meds, and just deal with the chronic pain- I almost think that will be easier to deal with.
So many of you are on my heart today - and in my prayers.
To many of you I say stay warm! Snuggle up, and sip hot chocolate - like the Oragutauns in s Miami.
Good Morning CruiseMates!!
Well it is indeed a winter wonderland here in Indiana. It started snowing shortly after I fell asleep last night and should continue all day. The reports say the roads are awful and the plows are not keeping up. On the Illinois side of the state line where the communities are low on funds due to the States economic crisis, the plows haven't even gotten out yet. It's a mess. D/H decided he had to go to Indy to work today...not sure why... but he probably should have stayed here and worked from home. Oh well, I sent him with a survival kit. Just in case, and if he gets stranded I will go get him in my 4x4.
Todd, Good to see you back here where you belong and to have Fran back home where she belongs. I did here back from d/s's surgeon, we scheduled the surgery Jan. 29th, then d/h came home and said oh I guess you didn't know I am teaching a class that week, grrr, so I am going to see if we can schedule it for the 22nd instead. Gotta make that phone call in about 10 minutes. He is having the 2nd of two surgeries. This one will correct his problems on his left foot, the right foot has healed nicely and is fully recovered. He actually just walked past me and showed me how good he can walk on his tip toes which was something he was unable to do until the last few months after his first surgery. So as much as I dread this, it has to be done, and in 3-4 months we can put it all behind us and move on with life again. I feel so much more at peace about it now that we have been through it once and know what to expect. The first time was pretty scary for both of us .
Today I think we will go sledding. I really don't want to waste this window of opportunity. Since the temps will start dropping again after today and d/s will be laid up in a couple of weeks for quite a while.
The fireplace guy came yesterday and got me all set up to burn wood in my fireplace. I am just waiting for my new grate and blower to show up and then I will be one step closer to getting rid of my propane dependency. I ought to start shopping for a tankless water heater...that way when my propane tank is nearly empty I can get rid of it. I will need to have someone come and dig it up, since it is underground, but I will need some work done out here with a bobcat or skidsteer in the spring, so may as well do it all at once.
Well that's about it here. Hope you all have a great day and we don't all get a bad case of cabin fever... Take care!
Good morning "Mates". Well, when I pear out the window of our Central Florida home, I see heavy frost, (wait, I think that's ICE) all over my poor "beater car" sitting in the driveway. I noticed that the "emergency heat" kicked on during the night, so I knew it was REALLY cold. When the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) got up at 4 A.M., and looked, it was 22 degrees outside! (Where's AlGore when you need him?) Well, it's supposed to warm up to the 60's this afternoon, then get really cold again this week end, then go back to our normal 60-70 afternoon temperature. Sure hope so, as I'm going to have to move South if it doesn't warm up soon.
Hope all my "Mates" have a great day. We're getting closer to the week end, so hang in there.
Good morning to all. Today started with a call from my D/D checking to see if I had any plans for the day. Luckily nothing pressing on the schedule. Seems her little one had a couple of throw ups during the night and she didn't want to send her to the babysitters and spread whatever it is around to the other kids. So she is with me today. SIL brought her along with big sis around 7am. I put the older one on the school bus everyday (when they are able to have school) but today was a challange. The bus ran about 5 minutes early and we missed it. I ended up taking her to school. Little one is napping in the recliner right now and seems to be doing ok, no throwing up so far.
Our temps here this morning were around 20 F but the forecast is for the snow to start around noon. Guess what Beanie is getting is heading our way. Saying we could have anywhere between 6 - 12 inches by Sunday. sure hope they are wrong about that. Just want to get this weather out of the way by the 22nd when I fly to Tampa. Please get Florida warmed up for me. Our cruise sails on the 24th and I am so ready to go.
Todd it is so good to hear that your life is getting back to normal, little by little. Baby steps forward are better than going backwards!
Beanie, hope your hubby has safe travels today and you can get the surgery rescheduled. So glad your son is doing so well from the last surgery just praying the next one goes as well. Enjoy the new fireplace, wood heat is dry but so nice to have.
Prayers to all in need. Everyone have a safe day and stay warm!
Sunny and beautiful but very cold this morning in southern New York. I'm looking for a photo from a warm climate to put in my profile . Four months to my next vacation and 11 to my next cruise.
Good morning from stil cool Fl. Today was another day down to the upper 20's. Supposed to slightly warm up for a couple of days then back down again.
Sue I too hope it is warmer on the 22nd and that weekend. We are going to Tampam on the 22nd and on the 23rd the whole family is going to the Monster Truck Jam. the one time we went it was COLD. Don't want that this year as Max will be there and he definitely does not need to be in that kind of cold. And I plan on being on the pool deck when we sail under the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

Good Morning cruisemates! Feeling empathy for everyone on the continent feeling the effects of these cold snaps.... while happy I'm sitting in one of the few nice weather places.
Another day in the 70s in store for us in Scottsdale. No golf scheduled, so I'm sitting here thinking about what I should do to enjoy it. Mrs. Kuki has a coffee date with a girl visiting from Calgary. I may just sit on my patio and watch the bad golfers go by.
Hello everyone. Woke up to a few inches of snow, not too bad. Were suppose to get up to 10 inches by tomorrow. Up to this point I have been shoveling the driveway instead of using the snowblower but the time has come to fire that puppy up! Woke up with a tooth ache again this morning. I guess I better call the dentist. I starting to think I need a root canal
Have a graet day!

Good morning, everybody! A beautiful sunny day here in CA.
Todd, so nice to see you posting here once again.
Aerogirl, I have a root canal in my near future, as well.
Keith has a dr's appt today. Other than that, nothing exciting going on. I am looking at alternative whale watching tours in Maui. HAL notified us that they wer cutting the excursion by one hour, but they didn't lower the price. So I want, and have found, something considerably less than $73 p/p/.
Good morning from sunny Jupiter FL. It's cool, but I have been able to have the front door open so some of the fresh air can filter through the house.
Yesterday after 3 weeks without any bouts of sickness, I got hit hard again. At least it only lasted about 12 hours. Think morning sickness and labor pains, all at the same time, and you will know what it's like. The doctor said he doesn't have a magic pill for me much as I wish he did.
Anyway today I feel great again, and that's a wonderful feeling.
Todd, I'm so glad to see your post today. Give my love to Fran, and tell her we are all pulling for her to lick this bout, and get up and start chasing you around the house.
Beenie, sorry to hear your son needs more surgery, but it sure is encouraging to hear the last surgery has been so beneficial to him. That little guy has been through a lot.
Good to hear from everyone else too. Take care and stay warm. (Kuki stop soaking up all of our 70 degree weather. Share some of it)
