Default A Warmer Monday....I Hope!

While only 9 degrees F outside my very dark sunroom window adjacent to my computer, the forecast is for moderating temperatures with a predicted high in the lower thirties for today here in upper East Tennessee. But of course that comes with another threat of light snow this afternoon and evening

I sometimes wish I were still in school. The kids got a Big Time Christmas vacation this year as schools will continue to be closed again today as a result of icy back roads and streets. That'll make it over three weeks since shools have been opened! Moms all over Greene County are ready to take the gas pipe! Remember, they really don't do snow removal down here, at least nothing like up North. Do you give your kids snowdays, Beenie Weenie?

As most know, took my beloved Fran to see our friend and family physician yesterday. J.R. gave her a Kenelog and a B-12 injection. Although I think she may have been not quite as tired yesterday, it's hard to tell. While she was on steroids when taking chemo, she'd clean the house at 3:00am! So we'll continue on and see if any visible improvement can be seen as a result of the shots. My nerves are about shot, hence I'm up at all hours these days.

I asked J.R. if my heart could be going into, out of and then back into sinus rhythm. He said absolutely. The reason I asked was because at times I feel almost normal while at others I am almost completely debilitated. At any rate, I'm putting that ablation way back on the ultra back burner along with my first colonoscopy for which I had and am cancelling, a pre-procedure appointment this Week.

So glad to hear Sid that your daughter is rapidly recovering.

I'm only now really returning to the boards and maybe I've missed it, but I still don't remember hearing anything from Delft. If she hasn't posted, I hope someone can contact her to determine if things are okay up there.

Prayers of course continue for all those on the list accompanied by a fervent prayer for Blessings upon all my Cruisemates.

Todd

My goodness Todd, you ARE up early today! I thought I was up early, I have an early morning appointment for work and it's a 1/2 hour drive, and I am not used to being up at dawn!

It's a pretty dawn this morning, with a promise of actual SUN!
We had a few cms of snow yesterday and overnight, probably enough to close the schools down south, but just another regular day around here...

Todd, I'm glad Fran saw a Dr. yesterday and got some meds, hope she will recover quicker now. You too, take care of yourself!
No, you didn't miss any posts from Delft, we have not heard from her.
Hoping all is well with her also...

Gotta run folks, have a good Monday!

Good Morning Mates,

It is dark out - spitting snow. There was no sun at all yesterday. Not sure what today will hold, weather wise.

My son got off yesterday, the females he was travelling delayed the trip, and they got a late start. I am sure he was annoyed - I don't know that he will love the trip with two females, neither of which he is related too, as he is too much of a gentleman to say what is bothering him.

TOday will be a mixture of paperwork, housework and errands I guess.
I didn't sleep well at all last night - my sinus started acting up, then after I got them tended to, I just couldn't get my back muscle to relax, so I couldn't find any comfort at all. I thought I had taken my meds, but maybe I forgot. I will have to pay better attention today.

As always, I have lots to do, I just hope that I can use my time wisely, be productive, yet have a little balance. I am hoping to be a bit more organized and simplistic.

My dog seems very wound up today - not sure what that means.

Todd - I too wonder about Delft everyday. My prayer are with her and her family.

Todd - hope Fran begins to really gain strength and endurance - but wow - I don't like to read you are cancelling appointments. Take care of yourself!

I hope the weather releases its grip soon. It has been an odd couple weeks - everything just seems out of whack.

Well, Mates - wishing you a great day.

Good morning everyone:

It is a typical January day here in the land of 10,000 frozen lakes. The ice houses are all over the lakes now. I miss not being able to take my portable fish house out and fish for awhile. That was my nightly ritual, after work, for many years. I'd have the portable in the back or the SUV and go out and fish for an hour or two. Betty does take me a few times a year but she isn't a fisherwoman and only enjoys it if we're pulling them in one after another.

Not much on the agenda today. Betty's shoulder and back are feeling better and she's sleeping well. She did have a mishap though. She pulled out our old heating pad and used it when she went to sleep. The thermostat must be shot because she burned her shoulder. We're talking a third degree burn with a large blister. I threw the heating pad out.

Well, I hope everyone has a great Monday and a fantastic week. I guess we should start thinking about getting stuff ready for the cruise. It's only 10 days away.

Todd: Don't neglect your own health. It's the worst thing you could do for Fran. She needs you.

Take care,
Mike

Another cold morning here but due to get up to around 25 if the weatherman is right! Due for more snow tonight into tomorrow but only about an inch of accumlation expected.
Our family is now all on the mend after a weekend of everyone being ill. The bug hit my littlest grandaughter first, then big sis, their mom, me, Papaw, the other grandmother and lastly Daddy. By this morning everyone was able to go to work although not a full speed yet. School was delayed for 1 hour so I now have the first grader off and the little one is napping on the couch. She is usually down for about an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon, so if all goes as planned it will be a normal Monday for me.
Today will be spent playing when she wakes up. I need to get started with some packing for our upcoming cruise. I only have 11 days till we fly to Tampa. Sure do hope it warms up down there, of course anything above 20 will seem like a heat wave for us.

Todd= Hope the meds help Fran. You take care of yourself too. We don't want you down and out.

Prayers continue for all those in need. Everyone have a good day.

Good Morning CruiseMates!!!
Well I am pleased to report we are finally out of the negative and single digit temps and should remain that way for at least the next 10 day forecast... lets hope even longer...like while we're gone to Hawaii in 2011.

Todd, I am hoping things will continue to stabilize, but like everyone else I hope you will still take care of Todd. So please don't put those procedures too far back on that back burner. I certainly understand postponing them for a bit though. As for the the kids...they would be in heaven with 3 weeks of snow days, but they have definitely reaped the benefit of our local school districts 2 school days. We went sledding both days and had a great time and they also got to go hang out with all their buddies who were out of school. But they did have to do a little school work those mornings.

Mike OMG glad you threw out that heating pad. Wow, hope Betty is gonna heal up OK from that. Poor thing!

Well I may get out and enjoy our "heatwave" a little more today. Just depends how much work we can get done. Lord knows there's plenty.

Hope you all have a less than typical Monday!

Good Morning CruiseMates!! Florida is frozen!! I stepped outside this morning for a moment and thought I was back in NH. I had to look around and see palm trees to assure myself I was not up north.
Todd, I was happy to hear that Fran came home, tiny steps lead to big strides. Prayers for you both still going up daily.
I too had been wondering about Delft. I had noticed that she was not posting here nor over on my forum. I have missed her and hope all is well.
Someting I saw on tv this morning struck me as odd. I noticed that GMA was sponsored by Carnival. I thought that rather odd for a network that is owned by Disney.
Mike you brought back memories of NH for me. I am sure the ice house villages are all over Lake Winnipesaukee by now. The annual ice fishing derby will be going on soon. I remember Patty wanting to go over to Meredith to look at the fish. We always took her. I could think of other things I would rather do than stand around freezing my hinie off to look at dead fish!
VT Jen, the tragic death of a family in VT was broadcast down here. I will never understand why people take so many chances on iced over lake. I remember too many years of people dying on NH lakes because of "Skimming" the open water areas with snowmobiles.
Have much to do today,I was already our ro pay the bills. I have to shop and he best part is having lunch with a friend.
Have a wonderful day.

Laura

Good morning, friends!

Well, the warming trend has started in Texas, so hopefully it will be sliding to the east, too.

After church, yesterday, DH didn't feel well, and took 2 Benadryl pills. He slept all afternoon, and didn't really wake up until 10:00, last night. I asked him what time he came to bed and he said 4:00 a.m. I guess he will turn his days and nights around eventually.

Getting excited about my upcoming cruise! Just 6 days from now. We met TravelMike and Carol at the airport last Saturday, and they are now comfortably aboard the Conquest. We will join them next Sunday.

Todd, I'm glad that you took Fran to the doctor, and pray that she will continue improving.

Mike and Sue, wish you could have planned your cruises to join the group on the Conquest! That would have been nice!

Everyone have a great day!

Darlene,

I also wish I could have joined you but I promised to take Betty to somewhere she hadn't been before. So we will be sailing the Mexican Riviera.

After we return I'll take her to another place she's never been. I'm taking her to the kitchen.

Take care,
Mike

The warming has finally started in Fl by the end of the week we are supposed to be back to normal. low 70's. I sure that is the way it goes.

Todd, I do understand your putting off the medical procedures for yourself but don't wait too long.

Kuki, your statement "I only work on days that don't end in Y" made me think of a book titled " Cancer Only Sucks on days that end in Y". It was written by a freind about the journey of cancer for his son. He has a blog on Caringbridge that he started a couple years after they found the cancer. And the book is mostly posts from that plus things he could not put on the blog. For such a terrible time he would make you laugh with his description of things.

I hope everyone has a safe and warm day.

Feels like the tropics here today! It is going to get all the way to 50. Kuki keeps rubbing it in, but it won 't be so pleasant where he is when it gets up to 120 next summer. Then, he will probably go back to Calgary and rub it in some more.

We will be in the tropics on the Snooze Cruise next week at this time. Can't wait. We hope everyones health problems get taken care of soon, and that you all can get on some ship going somewhere.
