Carnival Mardi-Gras--March of '83, cabin on Riviera deck. We sailed from Miami to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
At that time Carnival had a Sommelier in the dining room to assist with the wine selections. We sat at a long table and to my right were 3 couples from somewhere in New England who would show up pretty well lit every night (we had 2nd seating ) One night the Sommelier was so drunk he could barely get around--guess he had tasted so much wine the first seating he was buzzed by the time second seating arrived The three couples showed up, as usual, pretty well lit, ordered Champagne and when he started pouring, he got my wife and I mixed up with them-- everytime he poured for them, he poured for us--my wife didn't drink much of hers so I was drinking hers and mine, trying to keep up-- so I drank about a gallon of free Champagne and neither the three couples nor the Sommelier noticed and after about 3 glasses I didn't care !! Great cruise.
Six weeks ago! Taking ONE cruise was on my bucket list. Didn't expect to like it as much as I did, now I can't stop thinking about it and planning the next one.
There are a lot of great memories but one thing I'll never forget was the total lack of back pain (which I attribute to not only being stress-free but not having to do ANYTHING for 5 days)! Do you think my insurance company would cover the next trip? !
Carnival Fantasy out of Mobile to the Western Carribean.

Our first was on Carnival Imagation, Sept 1995. Western......7 day out of Miami........Cozumel......Grand Cayman....didn't go in....a hurricane....& Ochios Rio........
We were in cabin 151..........hubby didn't want to go AT ALL......but by the 2nd day he was trying to figure out how to book another one......no on ship bookings then........

March, 2007 on the Norwegian Dawn. 10 days to Eastern Caribbean from NYC. We have done 60 days of cruising since then.......to say we love cruising would be an understatement!
February 25, 1983-Carnival Festivale. I was hooked as soon as I got my first sight of the ship on the way in to the port.

Carnival Inspiration, 2002. My DH worked in the main office of a very large insurance company. As an incentive they offered the people in sales a cruise. Since DH wasn't in sales we weren't eligible, BUT, one of the salespeople couldn't go and we were offered the cruise (with 2 weeks notice) in their place . We'd never been on a cruise and I was going to say "no" , but DH (and my Dear Mother) talked me into going.
We haven't stopped since! As long as I have a cruise booked, I'm a happy person !
