Default It's a CruiseMates Thursday Morning!

Morning mates, from a frosty-looking Caribou River. The temp is not so cold, only -3C or 26F, with flurries in the air. Yesterday I stayed at work late and drove home in the dark with freezing rain - that was NOT fun!

Today I will work from home. My computer room is littered with books, papers, CDs, notes, and ideas trying to come together as a program of physical activities for kids. My old Crazy Frog CDs are coming in real handy, as I knew they would. there's just something that kids love about Crazy Frog!

Before I get started on that though, I'm off to Aquafitness this morning.
Hmmm, maybe I should bring Crazy Frog with me and we could have fun exercizing to that!

Funny story: I went to see my new Dr. yesterday with a few complaints, one of which was an extremely painful elbow. He diagnosed "Golfer's Elbow" which is pretty funny since I've never touched a gold club in my life!
Made me think of Kuki out there in the sun in Arizona. Be careful Kuki, that you don't get Golfer's Elbow!
Actually it's a bad case of tendonitis, from what I don't know, and I'm trying anti-inflammatories if my stomach can take it. If not, it will be a Cortisone shot....

Good Morning CruiseMates,
I hope you all are getting a good overdue dose of warmth. I was enjoying temps above freezing yesterday and the sun was shining, the only down side was the wind still added a chill. I was thankful last night to have a nice warm house.

Yesterday morning was very busy, I got d/d to the ENT, who pronounced her tonsils "humongous!" He said they needed to come out, as in their current state, they were touching in the back of her throat. So her surgery has been scheduled for the 26th and d/s's is slated for the 29th. My kind and wonderful sister happens to be off on the 29th and is going to come over to stay with d/d while I take d/s for his surgery. So they will both be warming the couch for a while. Doc said d/d will be out of commission for a couple of weeks and should take it easy for a month. D/s will be off his feet for at least two months when he'll start walking with crutches in an air cast.

They are both completely unconcerned with all of this. All they know or care about is they know they will both get spoiled rotten and have lots of fun stuff given to them to keep their minds off their troubles. Wow, if I were a little kid, I would be scared spitless. not these two, they're looking forward to new games and lego's and stuff. Funny kiddos! I am so glad they're not scared, I just don't understand it .

Today is filled with getting the house in shape, getting things cleaned up. I need to get stuff in order.

I am sitting here watching the what is left of Haiti on the news. It is just heart breaking and terrible. I am so glad that the world has responded on a large scale and hope help continues to pour in.

Well I had better get to work here. There's lots of stuff waiting to be done. I hope you all have a great day. Prayers being sent to all that are affected by the tragedies in Haiti, and all of you in need. Hang in there!

Good Morning Mates,

Temps have warmed up to just about the freezing mark - still not my ideal temp, but much better than yesterdays temps.

I have heard from my friend - she survived - had she been in her apartment she would not have survived. Somehow her cat, Lulu, made it out safely. I am sad to report that the two grandsons and dil of my dentist are missing. My dentit's son works for the UN in Haiti - he is safe, but his home is collapsed and it is believed his wife and sons were inside. Also a woman from our church has a cousin who is a teacher in Haiti, she has not yet been heard from. So, very sad. I don't know how anyone can look at the scenes, and not have a heart that is grieved.

My eldest cousin arrives in Hawaii tonight to break the sad news to his parents and bring them home. My aunt keeps calling my mother, as if she knows something is horribly wrong, yet my mother can not say anything. It is stressful for her - this is her sister, and she is brokenhearted, and she can not offer comfort - my mother is almost 80. My other cousin arrived in VT late last night, today she will meet with funeral director. Perhaps I can get to her today or tomorrow.

Thank you for all your support, it is appreciated beyond words.
I have paperwork to catch up on today, a couple of errands. I was supposed to meet with my neighbor and her daughter tonight, as her mom passed away last week from cancer. But now I am not sure if my cousin will be wanting my mother and I to come today or tomorrow. So everything is up in the air. Tomorrow night is also our monthly family dinner night with my mother, my two sisters and my brother - on Sunday my brother goes to FL for the rest of winter. Oh, my....I wish I could clone myself.

Hoping to hear more encouriging news from Todd this am.
RD - sorry about your elbow - I hate cort. shots. Hope you tummy allows the anti-inflammatory meds
Mike - hope you had a good appt. w/ neurologist. I hate the meds they give, I hope yours are working.
Kuki - soak in sun for all of us!
Trip - thanks for the update of Delft. I will try to get something in the mail to her very soon.
My thoughts and prayers are spilling over to many, many, many today.
May you all be in peace and safety today.

Top 'o the mornin' R/Donna, B/W, Jen and all who follow!

Now see R/D, maybe you should get out there on the links and learn golf. Then you'd have a reason for Golfer's elbow.

B/W, when you first mentioned that your daughter's tonsils were enlarged I correctly figured out (as I'm sure did you and everyone else) what was in your little girl's immediate future. Of course tonsillitis is synonymous with "ice cream" so I reckon' you're gonna' stock up on D/D's favorite! ;-)

Jen, I think all of us are amazed at the extreme emotions you have to juggle on a daily basis and especially with this added Haitian tragedy. You and the suffering people of that country are in our prayers.

Thanks for asking about Fran, Jen and for everyone's continuing prayers. Yes, we did go to Church yesterday. I am hoping there is improvement with Fran as appears just might be the case. The two things about which I'm very worried are her nagging cough and her extreme fatigue, albeit the fatigue I don't think at least, is quite as severe over the past couple of days.

It's wasn't quite as cold last night (upper teens) here in upper East Tennessee and may even get to around 50 F today under beautiful sun filled skies.

I know I speak for everyone when I say to Luanne and Jim that our hearts are with you both at this most difficult time and we hope justice will be well served.

Prayers both at home and at our Wednesday Healing Service at Church, continue for all of those on the list (Delft, her mother and sister; Mike; Judy; Phyll; Luanne and Jim and all those suffering illness or travail. They are of course accompanied my a request for multitudinous Blessings on all my beloved CruiseMates!

Todd

BW I forgot to mention how I enjoyed your posting of your son's first crush - very cute story.
Praying that both children's surgeries go well.

Good morning everyone:

My night and day have been turned upside down. I started the "sample" of the new med yesterday and I slept for five hours after taking it. That was after I spent an hour on the phone with my insurance company trying to find out why the medication wasn't covered under my insurance plan. I finally got it worked out but I had to leave a message for the doctor to re-write the script for a three month supply. Their new requirements say that a daily med must be filled in three month increments. I hope the drug works otherwise I'll have a whole bunch of it left to sell on E-Bay.

Today will be another ophthalmologist appointment to get the final determination on macular degeneration. I'll find out if I'm wet or dry. I feel like a toddler getting my diaper checked. I always knew I was a degenerate but I thought it was my mind.

It is official cruise preparation time. A week from today we head to San Diego to board the Radiance. Betty has already started coordinating her wardrobe and still has to hem a pair of pants and perhaps buy a couple more "colorful" outfits. I just have to throw my "stuff" together and put it in the bedroom to be packed. We have gotten good at not over packing but the "formal" nights still have us wondering how formal we are going to get. I think I'm going with the sport coat, tie and slacks route. If that doesn't cut it for our My Time Dining in the main dining room we'll just go for the alternative restaurants or have dinner delivered to the cabin. One advantage to having a suite.

My best to all those who are having problems and I hope that it all works out and we cruise together and can look back and they can all just be old memories.

To all: I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Take care,
Mike

G'Morning "Mates", from beautiful downtown Lakeland, Florida, where the temperature is supposed to break 70 degrees F., this afternoon. That's the good news,,,,the not quite as good news is that it's suppose to rain. (Actually, that's good news too, as our water table is VERY low due to the farmers pumping all the water to protect their crops from the freezing temperatures!)
We're just starting to "get ready" for our cruise on the 30th. I'm excited, and ready, as this will be our first cruise since my "retirement".
God bless all of you who are in need.

See y'all later,

"SKY"

Good morning,
Hearing the latest devastation out of Haiti is just heartbreaking. . Makes you realize how unimportant the little thing that don’t always go our way really are. My prayers go out to these people and their loved ones and they get the much needed help soon.
It’s amazing how warm the 30’s can be after all that frigid cold weather. I got my car washed yesterday and it’s nice to see that is actually grey not white! D/S braces broke last night at dinner so we need to run to the orthodontist today after school.
BW… when we were kids my sisters and I had our tonsils taken out all on the same day . What are the chances that our doctor was a quack! Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning cruisemates! Another sunny morning in Scottsdale, with temps heading to 73 today.
I was up much too early this morning. It must have been Mike's brain sending me a telepathic message because it was all garbled. Next time you want to send me a message Mike, speak up!

What occurred and is going on in Haiti is unbelievably sad. And to happen to such an impovrished nation breaks your heart. Aside from the mind boggling death toll, who knows how very long it is going to take to recover from this in any liveable way.

For Mrs. Kuki and I, today is a day with no specific plans. I may just sit on the patio all day, and watch all the bad golfers go by, and compare how silly they look in their golf outfits compared to mine.

Default It's a CruiseMates Thursday Morning

A quick good morning to all of you. I am off to the periodontist to spend yet more money. Not too much treatment today, though. More of laying out a game plan and then spending a bunch of money!

It's almost packing time for us, too.

Have a good day.

Judy
