Default Friday at last!

Morning Mates,
I am very glad it is Friday at last, it seems to have been the longest week!
I have 2 more groups to teach today, then I can relax a little, before I start planning activities for them all to do next week....

It is -4C with flurries today, no significant accumulation expected, I think we had enough on Wednesday! I need a pair of snowshoes just to take the dog out for a walk on the property!
Fortunately , she loves it, and romps through the snow, burying her head searching for those elusive fieldmice who leave their little tracks everywhere..

Have a good Friday everyone, and ease into the weekend....

donna

Good Morning CruiseMates,
Well here it is Friday again already. I fear that if it keeps raining here, I may need to build an ark. The ground is still pretty frozen so I am wondering where all this water is going to go. Everyday the Wabash River gets higher and pretty soon the flooding will begin and then the spring melt will commence. It happens nearly every year like this but always seem to be surprised . Tomorrow should be in the 40's, those are temps we haven't seen in a while.

Was talking to d/h last night and told him I am a little unsettled about not hearing from the surgeon with surgery times yet, since the surgery is Tuesday. I was waiting for him to say, "why don't you just call them?" Then he looked at me and said "you're not going to call them are you? Because if they can't get this small detail right, you don't want them operating on her, do you?" He knows me well. So if I don't hear from them by today, I will be making other arrangements. I don't care how inconvenient it is.

I sent d/h off to work about an hour ago. So far just Sami and I are awake. She's getting into trouble right now sitting somewhere she doesn't belong. She thinks that if she makes herself very small I can't see her , what a sneak. She's got a full tummy and she's waiting for d/d or d/s to get out of bed, so she can climb in to their warm beds and take her nap.

Today is a cleaning day. D/D is really starting to write well in cursive. There's not much else happening here. It is quiet at the moment just the way I like it.

Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning Mates! As the song says, My bags are packed and I'm ready to go! We are leaving around noon for the airport for our flight to Tampa. We will be staying at the hotel tonight & tomorrow night then board the Legend for our 7 day cruise on Sunday. I am so ready to get out of town and to warmer weather. They are predicting snow here next week but I don't care! The rest of my group of 88 will be coming in tomorrow so even though I'm on vacation I will still be working getting everyone where they need to be and hopefully on time.
I put my grandaughter on the school bus and she gave me instructions on what she wants me to bring her from the islands. She has requested key chains to put on her back pack so that will be an easy find for me.
RD keep the home fires burning and don't let those kids wear you out.
Todd, hoping all is going well for your Fran and you. I will continue to pray for you two.
Guess that's all from here. I'll try and check in but if I don't, see you all in a week! Everyone take care while I'm gone.

Good morning everyone,
7:15 a.m. and I already have the homemade chicken soup on the stove. It’s one of those recipes that need to cook around five hours . I have a hair appointment later this morning so thought I better get it started now. In the low 30’s for today so not to bad for January.
Todd… hope Fran is feeling ok today and all is going well.
Mike… Hope your having a great time.
Sue… Have a great trip.
B.W. It’s not unusual to get the call a couple of days before the surgery. I’m sure you will hear by tomorrow night. I hate waiting on things like this.
Everyone have a blessed day.

Trip, I did learn to write by the Palmer method and I learned to read with Dick and Jane. Evidently I'm older than I look . 46 next month eek! Where'd the time go?

Aerogirl I have not heard a word from them since the initial appointment. Nothing. They were to call me regarding meds and stuff that need to picked up in advance and the actual time of surgery and to answer any questions... Seems very unprofessional to leave that until the last minute. I am not impressed. That is not the way things roll around here.

It is a damp Friday morning here in upper East Tenessee with the current temp around 41 F.

Sounds as if you're really getting into the swing of things, R/D.

It's my opinion that you are doing exactly the right thing as regards your son, B/W. A late family friend who was both a physician and a professor of Medicine over at Chapel Hill always advised that if you were always prompt but had to consistently wait more than fifteen minutes for your appointment, that they were overbooked and to find another physician. Sounds as if this may be a similar case.

Also am so glad you're teaching your kids cursive writing.

Hope your cruise is the most magnificent yet, Sue. Bon Voyage!

Trip, my mother had absolutely gorgeous handwriting and she of course learned by the Palmer method. Actually, I think I also learned by a similar if not the exact same method, yet I don't use cursive as I want people to know what I wrote. I can print as fast as some people write cursive!

I tell folks I actually I wanted to be a physician but following getting a "physician's signature" down pat, I found out I still had to go through four years of college then Med School! I thought just an illegible signature was all it took. That's when I decided to go into law enforcement!

Somehow I missed your post Aerogirl. Hope your day goes well and thanks to everyone for asking about Fran. I'm sorry to say she is still not improving that much but we're still praying and hoping.

Hope evewryone has a magnificent weekend and prayers and a request for Blessings continue.

Todd

Todd thanks! I need to hear that, because it is how I feel. Actually this is D/D's tonsil/adenoid surgery. D/S's is fine, this is now the 2nd time for him, same surgeon, same nurse, same surgical center, same procedure, different foot. I already have his meds. I have surgery time and all instructions and it is scheduled 3 days later than d/d. Night and Day between the two.

B.W. that’s just not right. They should of called you to give instruction on thing like not taking Motrin and other meds. I would be very upset. I would call them today in the event they forgot or thought someone already had called you.

Sorry wrong quote B.W.

I won't call them, simply because if they are a disorganized bunch, I don't want them working on my kids. Lord knows what else they might forget, ya know? They will simply have to cancel the surgery if they don't have their act together. I am a "witch" when it comes to stuff like this because the stakes are too high if something goes awry.

Good Morning cruisemates! Lots of clouds, and record rainfall in Scottsdale. Last night they had strong gusty winds, and plenty of trees down and flooding in low lying areas. The golf course next to our patio is mostly under water. There was some reporting of a tornado touching down not too far from our condo, but turned out to be just be wind damage.
GREAT.. I just had to be here for a 50 yr rainfall record

On the flip side had a fabulous Greek dinner out with friends last night. One couple leaves today, but are returning next month for 10 days. A nephew, and golf buddy, arrives Sunday.

Your not a witch at all for feeling this way. You need to be your child’s advocate . Don't mess with mommy when it come to her kids.

Trip,

Yep that's what I was taught. What cemented it was when you wrote "push/pull method" and the letter "Q" that was in the clip. I never did understand why a capital "Q" was supposed to look like a giant "2."

Boy, do I feel ancient!

Beenie, I know that when both grandsons had thier surgeries since as long there was nothing special to do before going into the hospital we did not know what time the surgery was until the day before. Even when our daughter had to have surgery (33 years ago) we did not know the time of until the day before. A lot of times if the surgery is being done at a hospital the hospital won't assign times until late. I had to have a couple of surgeries at outpatient centers and also did know the time until a day before.

But hope you hear today.
