Morning Mates, it's my favourite day of the week - Saturday!
I love having a whole weekend ahead with nothing special planned, time to relax and de-stress after a very hectic 1st work work.
It is is snowing lightly out there, very pretty and no significant accumulation. Temp is hovering at -7C, around 19F, so quite pleasant when there's no wind.
I am dying to get some snowshoes and try them out on the property. Might as well enjoy all this space! Maybe I'll find some today, I'm looking for 2nd hand in case I don't like it!
Nothing else exciting happening this weekend. We look forward to our night out at a local pub for Trivia, the people there are so nice and welcoming to newcomers and we have a good time.
Otherwise, I will be working on programming for next week and the following weeks, plus Winter Carnival and March Break. I have lots to keep me busy!
Todd, continued prayers for Fran, hope she is hanging in there....
I was born on a Saturday .Its always been my favorite day of the week .Its nice to wake up to sunshine but not to a temperature of 28 degrees .However ,I am counting the days till spring and its not that far away .I wish a wonderful weekend to everyone and great 2010 cruises to all.
Good morning everyone,
I’m pretty fond of Saturdays also. The smell of waffles and bacon fill the house on the weekend . I’m a naughty mom, I let me son stay home from religion class today to sleep in since he had a early and busy weekend last week. He make his confirmation in May. Weather here in the 30’s no sun as of right now.
RD… I’m glad you survived your first week.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning CruiseMates
We are experiencing a heatwave of 41 degrees. But it is not fit for man nor beast outside. It's foggy and soggy with more rain expected tomorrow. I think that's about enough of the wet stuff already.
Everyone in the house is awake. D/H is in the shower, he and d/s are going to head down to the barber shop and get their hair cut. I wanted to make sure d/s had nice short manageable hair before surgery Friday so I volunteered d/h to take him along.
Last night I put the kids to bed, sat down on the sofa I rarely sit on, put the footrest up and watched a movie "The Proposal" a couple of nights before that I did the same thing and watched "The Hangover". This is part of my New Years resolution to give myself occasional mental health breaks and to sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labor, like the nice big screen TV I had to go to the ends of the earth to buy, that I hardly ever will sit down and watch a movie that I want to watch. So that was really nice. Sometime today I intend to watch Julie & Julia.
I really want to go see It's Complicated in the theatre, but looks as though I have to wait until it comes out on DVD, since it's no longer showing around here. That's alright there's plenty of movies in the sea .
Well the d/d's Doctor's office never called and since they set the expectation that I should hear from them a short time after her appointment with the surgery time and to get all of our questions answered and all of those misc. details would be addressed. I am not comfortable waiting until Monday, the day before surgery, if by chance I do hear from them at that point. I have to make plans for someone to stay with d/s if we will be home after 5:30. I need to have someone pick him up from the sitter and then arrange for d/h to pick him up after work Really I am stuck here in limbo or stuck dragging my son along who really doesn't need to go through seeing and experiencing something like this right before his own surgery 3 days later. Plus all of d/d's meds should be phoned in to the pharmacy prior to surgery, so that we are not having to stop and fill a prescription on the way home from surgery which would be sheer torture for everyone involved.
D/H got in touch with his friend at work whose wife is a nurse practitioner for an ENT group in Indianapolis. I explained my issues and concerns, she agreed and understood my feelings. She went and set up an appointment with one of their surgeons for next week and we are going to start over again from scratch with a different Doctor.
Right now I have breakfast cooking on the stove, gonna start some laundry in a bit and tidy up. Not much else happening here. It's quiet and peaceful. Hope you all have a great day!
...and a great big Hello and good morning from a chilly, but not quite really cold central Connecticut, where the sun is shining.....
I realize that this is sort of late to be posting to the MT (Morning Thread - am I the only one who has ever referred to it that way? Just curious), but we have been busy already. Mrs. S made chili (from the Alice's Restaurant cook book - yes, it is the one from the movie/song) yesterday, and it is now slowly simmering on the stove, filling the condo with great aromas. Some nice bread from Price Chopper (they have an in store bakery), and we will have a wonderful simple, stick to you ribs meal....oh, and a slice of cheesecake for dessert.....
Well, we have booked another one ! Solstice; 7 days; sailing 5 September of this year. Since it's over the Labor Day holiday here in the USA, it means I only have to burn 4 vacation days. We can't wait. We went Aqua, since the difference between that and CC was minimal. So we shall see.
I booked with a company we have used twice before and have been extremely satisfied with - until this time. Long story short, I had a several email exchange with the booking agent before the invoice was straightened out. The quote said one thing, as did he when we spoke, and then the invoice was higher by several hundred dollars. But in the end we did get an invoice with the right amounts, Celebrity does have us registered, and happiness has returned to the peacful village of Pine Meadows. However, next time we book, and, Lord willing, there will be a next time, I will call one of the people we used previously, and avoid this last one all together.
Tomorrow, if the weather stays this way, we will venture to the outlets, there to wander aimlessly, seeking to stumble on a sale, or some other bargain. Mrs. S does need a rectangular Pyrex baking dish as ours broke after 30 some odd years. That should be easy to find. As well, there is a Lindt chocolate place there, and samples are always welcome.
We have both finished our annual round of physician visits and I am happy to report we both got a clean bill of health. My Caduet will be increased from a 5/10 to a 5/20, but no big deal; all the cholestorol numbers are within acceptable parameters. We are both thankful.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good remainder of the week end, and a good week to follow.
